“Through the eye’s of time”

Chapter One: The Wish

“Hey Keely!” Faye had shouted, splashing her friend in the face with the steamy spa water. “Gotcha!”

Keely let out a few playful giggles. Blocking the water from her eyes as she attempted to defend herself. “Hey!” She snapped in a silly tone of voice. “C-cut that out!” She quickly swept her hand across the clear bubbly water, sending the liquid flying toward Faye with ease.

The splash of water missed Faye by a few inches. “You have lousy aim!” She reminded her now growling friend. “You should work on it..”

Sticking her tongue out in reply, Keely had dunked her head in the water. Mumbling the words “Im not listening” as the bubbles from her lips reached the surface.

It was a typical calm and cold night in the city of Moorpark. The large, pearly moon above was smirking down upon the people, while the stars danced across the black eerie abyss. Today was Friday, the last day of school. To celebrate Keely had spent the night over at Faye’s house. Their plans were to swim, eat dinner, and possibly play some video games. Of course Faye would have done the watching and Keely would be the one with the game controller.

“It’s really cold out tonight..” Faye had mumbled. Leaning up against a bubble jet as she spoke. Her personality can be described more as a “lover” than a “fighter”. Although she can be an angle her wrath can be pretty frightening. She is someone who can be poetic, dramatic, and straightforward with her opinions. The kindness in her heart also portrays how sweet she can be, despite most of her silly faults. Her skin is a light brown hue. Though her eye color can be mistaken as black, her eyes are a deep brunette shade. Faye’s hair is a little past the shoulder, curly, and a deep black tint. Originally her hair was a mixture of browns but she decided to dye it for fun. Around 5”6’ in height and sixteen years old.

Keely sighed somewhat. Brushing back a few of her wet tresses as she spoke. “Of course it’s cold,” she snickered. “It’s probably zero degrees outside!” Keely is one of those “lovable” people. Despite the fact she can be a bit annoying, it’s hard to stay mad at her for long. Though she can be pretty sweet she can also be pretty scary. Every now and then she looks to others for advice instead of having her own opinion and she can be quite clueless from time to time. Even though she has so many faults, her personality makes up for it. Though she rarely acts her age, her silly behavior can sometimes brighten up someone's day. The color of her skin is quite pale. Her eyes are a soft chestnut hue and wears small gun powered colored glasses. Many people admire her long, wavy, blonde highlighted auburn hair for its uniqueness. Around 5”5’ in height and sixteen years old.

For a moment or two, Faye leapt into the big pool and swam one last lap. Afterward her freezing form hopped back into the spa. “So Keely..” She grinned, brushing back her wet locks. “Do you ever wonder if “fantasy” creatures exist?” When Keely hadn’t replied Faye removed her gaze from the stars. That’s when she realized Keely had her head under the water. “Hey, im talking to you!”

Keely jumped up above the water instantly at the tone of Faye’s voice. Blinking once or twice before slicking her wet bangs back. “What?”

Faye had rolled her eyes irritatingly. Smacking her upside the head softly before continuing. “Do you think fantasy creatures exist? Like fairies, trolls, and magic? That sort of stuff?”

“Ouch!” She snapped, quickly rubbing the back of her head as she spoke. “Um.. Well.. Uh..” Keely took a minute or so to gaze up at the moon. Her eyes softening somewhat as she mumbled under her breath. “I don’t know?”

“Oh come on..”

A grin rolled across her wet pale lips. Giggling somewhat as she rubbed her eyes. “Maybe.. Maybe not.”

Slowly Faye had raised her brow. Examining her friend’s facial features in slight curiosity. “Well, let me rephrase that then. If you could have your own fantasy world, what would my house look like?” She found Keely’s crazy imagination and story telling quite amusing. Like when she would predict the future or describe how the two of them would get married.

“Heh, that’s easy.” Keely smirked in confidence. “The house itself would be a ‘tear-ish’ type of shape. Painted a pearly white color with pastel blue trimming.. And there would be tiny blue flags that swished and swirled on the top of the one tower.” Using her hands to describe the texture, she continued on with her rather short story. Still swaying her hands back and forth as she spoke. “There would be a little fence that circled around the house too. It would be a white fence with yellow and pink flowers painted perfectly on each white-boarded spike.”

Faye’s eyes had twinkled in delight. Her lips forming a small smile as she gazed at her home. Imagining the things Keely had described in place of the normal features of the house. “I wish I could live in a house like that...” There was a small pause. “What about the inside? What would that be like?”

“Um..” Taking one or two minutes to think, Keely went on describing the interior of the imaginary home. “The inside would have a lot of pictures on the walls that had changing frames. There would be millions of wind chimes hanging from the ceiling made of real raindrops.. And the staircase would rotate directions from left to right sometimes.” Keely stretched her arms out. Looking up at her friend with that childish smile. “There would be lots of doors,” she began. “And they would lead practically anywhere in the house--like the bathroom door would lead to the kitchen, and the kitchen would lead to the laundry room when it’s supposed to be the dinning room.”

Faye rolled her eyes. Smiling somewhat as she spoke, “Your a nut you know what?”

Keely grinned. Her right hand playfully gesturing ‘thumbs up‘. “Naturally...”

The two young girls both laughed. Gazing up into the ocean of stars with smiles on their faces. “I wish we could be in a world like that...” the two had whispered at the exact same time. Watching a few shimmering stars blaze across the black sky.

“C’mon.. Let’s go to bed.” Faye had yawned. “We can play video games all day tomorrow..”

She grunted somewhat. “All day?”

“Yes.. All day.”

After Keely made Faye promise around five times that she would get the chance to play some games, the two girls got out of the pool and headed into the house. Faye had changed upstairs while Keely changed downstairs. Once they were done eating dinner and brushing their teeth they met in her room.

Keely plopped a seat on the floor. Her sassy eyes flickering as she sucked on a strawberry lollypop. “Im not all that tired..” She groaned. Folding her arms behind her head as she rested upon her purple sleeping bag. “Sleeping is overrated.” She was dressed in pajama pants twice her size. The soft blue fabric had little crescent moons and stars imprinted on them, which happened to be two of her favorite shapes. She didn’t particularly like the top that came with the pants, so she simply wore a navy blue tank top. With her hair tied up into a rather neat bun and all her jewelry set on Faye’s nightstand, she was ready for bed.

“You might not need sleep.. But I do.” Faye snickered. Combing her black tresses slowly before placing the locks in a ponytail. Her black pajama pants material was somewhat silky. Many cute pairs of bright ruby red cherries had been imprinted all over the fabric. Her shirt fell a little below her waist; the sleeves and collar were red while the rest of the shirt was black. In the center of the shirt were two large cherries. It was a known fact that Faye loved cherries. Most of her jewelry had adorable cherry figures on them, but it was usually either earrings or necklaces. “Wake me up when you’re awake, all right?”

“Yes Ma’am.” Keely had her face smashed into her favorite purple blanket. Tossing the lollypop stick into the trash blindly before removing her glasses. “Night Faye..”

Snuggling into her warm and cozy bed, Faye shut off her bedroom light. “Night Keely.” She whispered afterward.

A blinding flash of light struck the two girls in their dreams. Intertwining them into a twisted reality of endless fields and meadows. Both Faye and Keely stood dumbfounded in the beautiful pasture with clear skies. Beneath their feet were ripe and luscious flowers that kept tickling their legs and toes out of curiosity.

“W-what.. What the heck is going on?” Keely said with a yawn. Rubbing her eyes somewhat before stretching out her arms. “Are we... dreaming?”

Faye didn’t reply immediately. Her mouth simply continued to remain open as she gazed at the area surrounding them. Looking up at the cloudless skies and later on returning her glance down to the flowers below she managed to whisper: “Im not sure?”

Discover the true meaning of the darkness...” An unknown voice had softly whispered. “Grasp the truth that hides with in the shadows of this reality...”

A young man, possibly in his early twenties stood a few feet ahead them. Nothing but his shimmering emerald orbs could be seen fore his form had been hidden beneath a black cloak. The outline of his body was vaguely distinguished and one or two locks of his vibrant ruby hair hovered over his left eye.

You will bring forth destruction...” He had whispered. “You will destroy the land that is cleansed in blood..”

Suddenly the gorgeous scenery around them burst into flames. The skies were as red as fresh blood, and the once rich soil was decorated with gravestones. It was a horrifying picture, as if the land itself had simply died within the matter of seconds.

Keely took somewhat of a step backward. Her eyes flickering in a frightened and yet angry shimmer as she attempted to speak. “W-who are you?” She had asked.

A time that used to be...” The black figure ignored her question. “Will forever cease to exist..”

As if the world around them was glass, it began to shatter. Pieces of the sky and ground toppled onto the floor. Shattering in many different places until the three of them stood in darkness.

“W-What the hell are you talking about?” Faye had suddenly snapped. Somewhat irritated and yet frightened by the man’s words. “What‘s happening to us?”

The man held his hand out toward them. His lips grinning in the shadows as he spoke. “Your paths have been chosen.”

--

“H-Hey.. You all right?”

Keely slowly opened her eyes. A faint moan leaving her lips as she rose to a sitting position. ”Huh...? What..?” A sense of nausea swept over her when she regained her wits. Blinking once or twice until her blurry vision was less blurry.

“I said are you okay?”

Keely squinted her eyes somewhat, trying her best to get a better look at the out of focused person. “Faye..?” When Keely realized the figure before her was not her friend, a very loud, ear piercing shriek left her lips. Immediately throwing her fist forward and smacking her target right in the face.

The form toppled off of the bed and fell onto the floor. His hands grabbing his nose as one or two growls left his lips. “Ow! What did you do that for?!” He whimpered.

“Keely! Keely, it’s okay!” Faye’s voice had suddenly cut in. Rushing to her friend’s side.

The poor auburn haired girl covered her eyes with her hands. Panicking slightly as her form began to tremble. All the blurry objects around her caused a great deal of confusion, and it began to mess with her head. “I need my glasses..” She asked softly.

Faye gently sat by Keely. Patting her on the back in a soothing type of manner before handing her glasses to her. “Here you go..”

Quickly putting them on, Keely’s vision slowly went into focus. “What’s going on?” She had asked. Turning her head over to Faye for some answers. “W-where are we..?” As she spoke, she skimmed her brown orbs across the unfamiliar room. It brought a sense of uneasiness to her.

“No clue.. I just woke up a few minutes ago.”

“That’s just ggrreeaatt...” She sighed. “Then who was tha--?!”

Slowly a boy, probably around sixteen or seventeen, rose up from the floor. Wincing a few times before properly standing on both feet. “Ouch..” In one small motion, he cracked his nose back into place. Letting a small stream of blood run freely down his lip’s and chin before whipping it clean with a handkerchief. “Man.. You pack quite a punch.” He whimpered once more.

Keely went bright red. “Im so sorry!!” She quickly apologized. “I couldn’t see you!”

The boy paused. Blinking in slight confusion at her words. “What..? What do you mean?” He ruffled his hair somewhat. It looked as if he was trying to figure out what they were wearing, or what Keely’s glasses were.

“Wait a second..” She muttered. Cutting the poor boy off as she randomly jumped off the bed into a suspicious type of position. “He must have kidnapped us!!” Keely gasped. “Why else would we be in this tacky place?!”

Tacky was right. The room was oddly shaped, and to top that off it had two circle shaped doors, triangle windows, and millions upon thousands of small pictures. Despite the fact it looked like it was a room from the sixties, it had a particular beauty too it.

He snapped out of his little daze and immediately threw his hands up in defense. “What? N-no I didn’t!!”

Faye sweat dropped slightly. Embarrassed by her friend’s rude actions, despite the fact it made a little sense. “Keely, calm down... Violence is not the answer!”

Keely ignored Faye’s words. Preparing to tackle the young man feet before her. Unfortunately she didn’t even get the chance to do anything. Right as she charged forward, the boy managed to trip, grab her by the wrist, and pin her down onto the wooden floor all in one gesture. As painful as it may have looked, he was holding her down quite softly.

“Will you please shut up!” He had finally snapped. “I didn’t kidnap you, and im not going to hurt you, so I would appreciate it if you would calm down and stop attempting to hit me!”

She felt petrified. Her form somewhat shaking at the tone of his voice as he spoke, and her eyes tight shut as he softly gripped her wrist. “T-then..” It was no use. She didn’t know this man or where she was, and the fact he was on top of her made things less comfortable. “Then.. Could you please.. Get off of me?”

The boy’s cheeks went faintly red, realizing he was in fact on top of her. “My apologies miss.”

Faye folded her arms across her chest. Frowning somewhat as the man helped Keely up onto her feet. “So..” She began, “What city are we in? Simi..? Moorpark? Can you at least tell us where we are?”

Once again the boy looked extremely puzzled. “What’s a ‘Simi’ and ‘Moorpark’?”
