Quietly casting its light afar
Beams of light stretching on
Dancing with the angel's song.
Angel wings, unfurled and bright
Beacons of purity in the dark night
Song of all songs soaring to the sky
Ever praising He who reigns on high.
Gentle snow floating to the loam
Beneath the star three travelers roam
Trekking through the winter cold
Journeying to the Lord of their fold.
Humble shepherds, looking up
Seeing the star shine bright above
Hearing the songs that the angels sing
And the tidings that they bring.
Quiet maiden in an ass's stall
Half-curled against the rough wall
Looking down at a young child
That would one day be so defiled.
Brightly shines the star in the sky
Sweetly the angels sing and fly
And Mary silently looks down
At the one who would wear God's crown.
