Friends Are Flowers

A friend is a flower found,
Often when you are down and on the ground.

Young hearts unfold so quick,
The one you can find is the one you pick.

When you feel betrayed and alone,
It is the perfect time for the seed of friendship to be sown.

Left to fend for your self, the tasks are sometimes too hard,
A friend is needed to be there as your guard.

The situation cannot always be controlled by you,
When you collapse under the weight, you realize you are only human too.

Then they will be right there,
Standing in a circle, helping you up because they care.

They are the friends you found,
For to your heart they are bound.

Now that they have been planted firm within your heart,
Tend to them too, and you will never part.

And if all leave you but one,
Hold on tight, never turn on that one; never run.

But true friends are flowers,
And under their glare, betrayal cowers.

No matter what, to you they will be a friend,
Forever more, until whatever end.
