A/N: The verse “the Serpent now recoils” was stuck in my head for days. I finally got it out. Please tell me if it was worth it.

Here there be dragons.

Beneath the light of seven stars,

The potion now boils.

Feeling the sting of hidden scars,

The Serpent now recoils.

The myst recites the ancient charms,

Then adds the sacred oils.

Commands by waves of his arms,

The Serpent now recoils.

In ancient tongues the spell begins.

But it’s the blood that soils

The mage’s hands from horrid sins.

The Serpent now recoils.

Vengeance and malice move his hands.

The magic spins and toils.

Dragons acknowledge his demands.

The Serpent now recoils.

By Fires of Hell and Star of North,

Toad legs and lizard boils,

Commands the dragon to come forth.

The Serpent now recoils.

Gold eyes gleam and jaws attack.

Despite the stinking oils,

The dragon liked his midnight snack.

The Serpent now recoils.
