I originally intended this piece to be a non-rhyming poem, yet it seems to just flow together like a song. Kinda reminds me of rap music, even though it wasn't the effect I was going for. Hope you like it!

IMMORTAL

I was born to never die,
I have lived long,
I've heard the same old song,
I have seen good men live,
Good men die, good men give their lives.

I have seen the evildoers lie,
Pay for their crimes,
Come back in different times,
Seen fools follow them blind,
No consience, no will, no mind.

I've seen great nations rise high,
Soar high, soar proud,
Then get too arrogant and loud,
And it all crashes down,
Like wings of wax, melt and burn.

I look back at this world and sigh,
Time is my prison,
Death is my vision,
Yet never is the cycle to end,
Bend, release me for I am just a man,
Hold me it will,
No moment to look forward till,
Where six feet under shall i rest,
No longer caged like time's pet.
