OF GUNSMOKE AND MULTICOLOR

Lighting a fuse to symbolize the end of a year
Watching as the wings of the phoenix freeze
A cycle of action has come to meet its own end

Sparks of every hue of the spectrum alight now
Past shades of gray are filled with panes of color
Coloring books of opportunity lay open before us

Pale wisps of smoke dance across my face softly
Combustions and explosions of past obstacles fade
New wicks await the moment that we alight them

The scent of gunpowder fills my nostrils heavily
Death and sin is buried tightly within their graves
As we arm ourselves with a new weapon of choice

Rockets sail into the sky as time has done prior
Clocks of the past 365 days come crashing down
More sets of hands cradle recycled digital digits

Lighting a fuse to symbolize the dawn of a year
Watching as the ashes of the phoenix are reborn
A cycle of action has come to start itself anew
