"Snowmankind"

The seasons of one's life are a snowman,

Snowman, snowwoman, snowmankind.

No matter, no need for correctness

Forget that snow is white and uniform,

Forget its frigid embrace, its troubling blizzards.

~*~

Remember childhood,

You were a new snowman of virgin snow.

Youthful arms of sticks,

Newly knitted scarf made with care,

Shiny buttons and a proud top hat.

You had your broom ready,

Ready to sweep the way, the day.

~*~

The weather ate at you in adolescence,

You melted, froze, such an awkward phase.

You noticed the other snowman

No longer under blanket of fresh snow.

~*~

Young adulthood took you,

Your clothes were replaced,

Your form firmed fully.

~*~

Until you entered adulthood

You became one with the rest of snow.

Snowmankind accepted you.

~*~

Then came the thawing of your life,

The melting of ages past.

Your clothes torn, tattered,

Wisdom spent as snowflakes

Continue their doomed descent.

A doomed descent of redemption

For another season. . .

Author's Note: Ironic that as I wrote this there was no snow on the ground, but my area will get some soon. Anyway, it's kind of a witty metaphor of life in the terms of snowmen. Hence the title as a little word I made up. Please review before you melt.
