Forbidden Love
Lies and hiding,
This is our life,
The one we chose
Full of strife.
Concealing our hearts,
From those we love;
Not showing our feelings,
The ones sent from above.
Never to know how sweet,
A white dress, a bride,
A black tux, a groom,
Us, standing side by side.
Never to hear the sound,
Of sweet little feet
Pitter pattering on the floor.
Not to have a child so sweet.
These feelings I have
I try to hide from my kin,
Deprived of true love
Because of the color of our skin.
What does it matter I ask?
If my skin is white,
If yours is black?
Why do most fright?
My love is true,
My heart is pure,
And for this injustice
There is no cure.
Authors Note: This poem came straight from my heart. That's the only time
poetry is ever good in life so why would you want to steal someone else's
feelings? It's better to let your own feelings pour out on paper. And
anyways if you'd take the poem why don't you just take the whole life I'd
gladly switch with ya. Well anyways the point is that, this poem is
completely and utterly mine. Well I hope you like it. Muah!
