Count the Stars

You awoke that morning,
That fateful Saturday.
That aircraft, a messenger,
We lost far away.
Seven lives, seven heroes
Seven people, seven dreams
All unique, all special,
Lived up to the extreme.
It took these lives
For us to embrace
Each other, to be patriots,
What a disgrace.
McCool, Anderson, and Ramon,
Clark, Chawla, Husband and Brown,
Ambassadors to the sky,
Sadly sent back down.
Go home tonight,
Look way up high
Count the stars, find seven more,
Still soaring through the sky.
