Two weeks passed quickly, and before I knew it, the first day of August was upon us.
"Kriti!? Come here for a moment, I have something to show you." My Aunt Jaya called from the kitchen to me.
Right when I walked into the kitchen and saw what she had, I let out a little noise of excitement and before I could ask, she nodded and told me that they were pictures from when I was rescued.
We spent almost an hour looking over them and talking about it when my Aunt Jaya said, "Kriti, that's not all though. I have another surprise for you, even better than this one."
Puzzled, I wondered what could be better than this. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small piece of paper, about the size of my fist.
She handed it to me, and I started slowly sounding out the English words.
"S-wi-ft Air-lin-s dep-art-ing fr-om: Tex-as a-rriv-ing: G-G-G. What's that last word Aunt Jaya?" I asked her.
"Galapagos Islands. From there you'll take a boat to our island. Happy birthday sweetie." She smiled.
"I-I don't know what to say! Thank you so much!!" I leaped forward and gave her a big hug.

I just finished packing. I got the ticket for the Galapagos Islands five days ago, and my flight was leaving in three hours.
Before leaving with the taxi I gave my Aunt Jaya a hug and a kiss goodbye.
"You be careful Kriti, you hear me? I don't want you getting hurt. Have fun darling, I'll see you in three days when you come back!" Her voice was full of fear and pride. I smiled at her and promised I would be careful.

As I was boarding the plane, I had to marvel at the sheer size of it. I wondered how it could stay up that long, how it even moved. How DID it move anyway?
"Excuse me?" A voice said behind me. I jumped.
"Sorry." I mumbled, not realizing that I stopped to look at the plane.
When I got on the plane, I realized that there were seats of two on each side of the isle, than meant that I was going to have to sit with somebody.
Suddenly, out of nowhere an incredibly perky happy lady came out of the front of the plane, and introduced herself as Rita. She said she understood that I must be a bit nervous about flying alone, so she helped me find my seat, and told me to press the little red button above me. It was called a service button.
I sat along for a while, until a woman came and sat next to me. She had straight black hair tied up into a long ponytail, and her lips were thin, and her eyes shaped like almonds. Her skin shone a bronze color.
I considered talking to this woman, but thought better of it. I guess I'm too shy.
I sat in my seat for another few minutes, when a voice came out of nowhere, very loudly. I jumped, and so did the woman beside me. My heart raced, but then I remembered Aunt Jaya telling me about it. She talked me through the whole thing; it's just surprising the first time.
The voice talked very fast, and I had trouble following along with it. I think it said something like this: Thank you for we .flight.
There was a window beside me, so I looked out of it, and was mildly surprised when we started moving, but I kept cool.
We rode around for a while, following little roads until we stopped.
"Are we there?" I asked no one in particular.
Suddenly we took off at a startling speed, so that I had to cushion my head on the chair. I guess this is the part where we go so fast. But what happened after we started going fast I wondered. I forgot what Aunt Jaya said.
Suddenly I saw the landscape outside turning sideways. Frightened, I realized that WE were the ones turning sideways.
I clutched the sides of my chair, and screamed!
