Usually on lovely mornings as the one on this day, the birds would be chirping their lovely songs. Unfortunately, there were never any birds in this gloomy forest, where the fog would blur out the traces of evil. Lying on top of the autumn leaves was the short ruby haired woman, dazed and unclothed on the floor. She got up slowly and walked into her cave. She grabbed the clothes off the floor and put them on. She sat down on the jaded cot and pulled out a cigarette. She lit it with the lighter from her leather jacket’s pocket. Images of Trevor ran through her mind.

“Something happened.” She said to herself. She pulled the cigarette out of her mouth and blew smoke into the air. The cigarette end was covered in blood. She threw it on the floor and wiped her mouth. A smear of blood was on her hand. “It can’t be.” She looked at the cracked mirror leaning on the cave wall and saw her reflection. Blood was dripping from her teeth, sliding down her chin. “Holy shit. He’s a werewolf. That means…” She picked up one of the notebooks scattered on the ground. She grabbed a pen and started writing:

“I turned someone into a werewolf. I need to find him. He can possibly find the Talbot Talisman for me. My army is now near completion. I will retaliate against my maker, my mate.” She let go of the pen and looked around the cave. Everything seemed to be jaded and damaged, except for a black motorcycle at the corner of the cave. She boarded it and went off into the forest.

“I need to find him.” She said to herself as she followed Trevor’s scent.

Trevor slowly opened his eyes. The room smelled like bleach and he lied down on the hospital cot. He was in a patient’s gown, with a white blanket over him and he sat up slowly. The door opened as Eve walked in.

“You’re alright!” Eve said.

“I guess.” Trevor replied.

“When can you leave?” Eve asked.

“Any minute now.”

“Did you get stitches?”

“No.”

“Then what did they do?”

“I don’t know. I was told that they healed up on their own.”

“I see.” Eve said, “But bite marks like that don’t just heal up on their own.”

“Somehow mine did.” Trevor said as their eyes locked. Eve leaned in closely as Trevor leaned towards her.

“Hey hey hey!” Derek exclaimed as he slammed open the door, “God do I love that Fat Albert. How are ya Trevor?” Derek asked as he walked over to him and slapped him on the back. Trevor looked at Eve as she sighed.

“You should really knock first Derek.” Eve said.

“Why?”

“It’s rude.”

“Uh oh! Looks like someone was about to rock the casbah.” Derek said as he started humming the song Rock the Casbah. Eve glared at him as he continued to hum the song.

"Keep humming and I'll permanently set your jaw in such a matter that you'll never hum again." Eve said.

“I guess I’m waiting in the car.” Derek said as he walked out of the room.

“Eve.” Trevor whispered.

“Yeah?” Eve whispered back.

“Open the door really fast, but don’t make any loud footsteps.” Trevor whispered. Eve nodded as she walked to the door without making a sound. She pulled the door open quickly as Derek stumbled into the room. “How I’d know you were behind the door.”

“What are you talking about?!” Derek said, “I…uh…came back cause I forgot my keys.”

“Ok…” Eve said.

“Yeah…my keys…shut up…”

“I was just kidding Derek.”

“Yeah…I know…shut up…” Derek said as Eve sighed.

“Will the owner of a red Mazda MX-6 LX license plate BDR529 please come up to the main desk,” A voice said over a loud speaker.

“That’s my car.” Derek said.

“Your vehicle is being towed.”

“No!” Derek said as he ran out.

“So,” Eve said, “In honor of your good health, you wanna go out somewhere?”

“Where do you suggest?” Trevor asked.

“Well, you can decide.”

“Hmm…what about…I don’t know, your choice.”

“How about we go to that carnival that just opened.”

“Uh sure.”

“Sounds like you don’t wanna go.”

“No no, carnivals are fine.”

“Alright, well I have to get ready. What time you wanna meet?”

“What about seven?”

“Seven it is. See you then.” Eve stated as she bent over to Trevor. She kissed him softly on the lips.

“I leave you kids alone for five seconds and look what happens.” Derek said as he leaned back on the door.

“Die.” Eve said.

“One day I will,” Derek replied, “but right now I’d like to go home.”

“Yeah, lets go home.” Trevor said.

The red car stopped in front of the house. Derek leaned back in the driver’s seat as Trevor and Eve walked out. The two headed to the door.

“So seven?” Eve asked as Trevor nodded. “Alright, I’ll be waiting there.” Eve said as she kissed Trevor. Trevor walked back to the car as Eve leaned back on the door watching him.

“So you have a date?” Derek asked.

“Yes I do.” Trevor replied.

“Cool. I got an idea.”

“What?”

“You should get some new clothes at the mall.”

“Why?”

“Cause I need an excuse to go to the mall to get this new videogame.”

“So let’s go.”

“Let’s go indeed.” Derek said as he revved the car engine and sped off.

The mall was packed. Many people were walking through the hallways, talking and holding bags full of goods. The doors swung open as Derek and Trevor walked through. Derek walked without noticing what happened to Trevor. He was on the floor, shutting his ears.

Trevor closed his eyes and clutched his ears, but it was still seeping in. So anyway, dude no way, that will be $7.50, what up, what do you want to do, and I was like, oh my God no way. All the voices raced through Trevor’s head, amplified as if it were going through a long tunnel. He slowly got up and ran out of the mall.

“What the hell is wrong with me?” Trevor said to himself.

“About a million things.” The shorthaired woman said.

“Who are you?”

“You don’t remember me? I’m shocked. I know we are more than acquaintances.”

“I’m sorry, I don’t remember you.”

“I believe you do. We met last night.”

“Where? At the concert?”

“No, late at night we met.”

“At the hospital?”

“No. I guess you don’t remember. My name is Lilith.”

“Trevor Lobo.” He said as Lilith reached for a cigarette in her jacket. She pulled it out and lit it.

“Well Mr. Lobo,” Lilith said with the cigarette in her mouth and then pulled it out, blowing the smoke into his face. “I’m the wolf who bit you last night.” She stuck the cigarette back in her mouth as a brief moment of silence occurred.

“Who the fuck are you?” He snarled.

“Easy there Mr. Lobo. I speak of the truth here.” She said as she brushed the hair out of her eyes, to reveal that they were gold and crimson.

“Your eyes.” He said, “No. No! This doesn’t make any sense!”

“Really.” She said, “Let me clear it up for you then. Hasn’t anything weird happened? How’d your wound healed so quickly, how’d you hear all those voices? Admit it Mr. Lobo, you know as well as I do that you are a werewolf.”

“No!” Trevor said as he punched Lilith. The cigarette slid off her lips onto Trevor’s forearm. It burned his skin and he yelled in pain. Lilith faced Trevor as he was running off.

“Don’t deny the fact that you’re a werewolf Mr. Lobo!” She yelled. Lilith pulled another cigarette out and lit it. “We’ll meet again Mr. Lobo.”

Trevor ran through the mall. The voices echoed through his head, but the words that Lilith told him seem to have stood out.

“Hey you ok?” Derek said as he grabbed him.

“Let go!” Trevor snarled. Derek let his grip go and Trevor ran off through the mall. Jerk. What’s he doing? Creep. What’s wrong with him? Moron. The voices wouldn’t stop. He ran into a small store, and the voices seemed to stop. He sat down on the floor and looked around. His heart was pounding and his breathing was heavy. Trevor looked around at all the various costumes in the store.

A large sign was in the store, which read, The Everything Halloween Store. Trevor got up slowly and started to walk around.

“Anything I can help you with?” A store clerk asked him.

“No.” He said slowly.

“Alright.” The clerk replied as Trevor continued to walk in the store. He paused and looked at the mask on the rack. It was a wolf’s head. Its fangs were yellow and pearl, its eyes were coal and it was a very ferocious looking mask. A werewolf, Trevor thought to himself as he looked for the cigarette burn Lilith gave him on his arm, but it was gone, as if nothing ever happened.

Trevor’s stomach started to ache as if it were being stabbed. He fell down to the floor and it seemed as if time was frozen. In a split second, Trevor’s hair grew longer, his eyes turned gold and crimson, his ears were smaller, and had a sharp tip, his teeth grew into long pearl fangs, small hairs grew along his chin, his arms were covered in dark hair, and his nails turned brown and grew into sharp claws. Trevor was no longer himself, for to him, this seemed like a bad dream with no escape. Trevor Lobo was now a werewolf.

He got up and let out a very loud howl, which was heard throughout the whole mall. He ran through the store, knocking everything over.

“Cool costume.” The clerk said right before he screamed when the werewolf ripped his throat. The werewolf leapt through the store window as people screamed in terror. He ran throughout the mall, killing anyone in his way. Security guards were calling for police with their radios as the werewolf took them all out easily. The werewolf then paused, as he smelt a very familiar scent. Running towards Trevor was another werewolf, the same one who changed Trevor’s life forever. Though, the other werewolf was different. Trevor looked more like part man, part wolf, while the other werewolf was nothing more but a large gray wolf with gold and crimson eyes.

The gray werewolf tackled the other to the floor. Trevor kicked the gray werewolf off the balcony. Trevor leapt off the balcony and landed on his feet, where he stood next to Lilith. The two clawed at each other, exchanged their blows with their fangs and charged at each other.

A bell rung as an elevator door opened and Lilith charged Trevor into it. The door closed as the two werewolves were fighting in the glass elevator. Trevor clawed Lilith across the face. She yelped and bit Trevor in the leg. Trevor crouched down as Lilith charged Trevor through the glass of the elevator. The two fell out and landed hard on the tile ground. And then time froze again. Trevor’s hair shortened, the patch on his chin was gone, his nails shortened and were his original color, his eyes became brown again, his ears we no longer sharp, his teeth were normal and the hair which covered his arms were shortened. The gray wolf was no longer a wolf anymore, but was now the shorthaired ruby woman. Trevor awoke, as did Lilith.

“Now do you believe me?” Lilith said.

“Yes.” Trevor replied. Derek’s pounding footsteps ran through Trevor and Lilith’s head.

“Trevor you alright?” Derek said. He paused and looked at Lilith, “Holy shit. First I get my new videogame and then there is a naked chick here, God must really love me.”

Eve waited on the carnival bench. She looked at her watch.

“Nine.” Eve read to herself. Two hours late, She thought to herself, Why the hell isn’t he here? I’m going home.
