It's cold.
I stand cut deep
By frigid winds.
Your name is drowned out
By the fury it unleashes.
I can't believe
You aren't there.
My heart cries out

I fall and lie curled,
Doing the best I can
To stave off this pain,
This lack of feeling
Invading and changing me.
One tear slides down
A cold cheek and hardens

Without the warmth of your touch,
The softness and the strength
As you lips brush mine.

And the landscape grows colder
As a blanket draining warmth
Sucking life, settles tight around me

Confusion. I see you so clear now,
Even through the fog
Insulating my brain.
I see your hands
Freeing me from my bonds,
Grasping, pulling

I can't feel you,
But I see the love
Behind your eyes.
It is dimmed
By the sadness and despair
Sharing its bounds.
You speak, "too late,"
But I can't understand the meaning.

The cold disappears
And I smile weakly,

The world is darker

Seeing you again
Now it seems a cruel joke
As I slide deeper into darkness.

Even so, I notice how cold you are,
The shivers and the paleness,
How weak your touch is
From the strength I remember.
