In a kingdom belonging to an Alternate Universe, a dynasty ruled that had proven itself to be the most powerful and the most ruthless among all others existing in other kingdoms and empires.
The kingdom was called Eisenhower, and the people who ruled it owned the name. It was actually a surname, from the first ruler King Bastien Eisenhower, who found the kingdom…
And he started the evil dynasty.
Every crime would lead to death, and failure means death…
…Or so it goes…
But this is the story of a young ruler, and even as a little boy, he was just like his father, Alastair, who was known as the worst ruler ever.
The boy's name was Nicholas Kyle, but Alastair preferred to call him Kyle.
He was the youngest of four children, and his other older siblings were Nathaniel, Nestor and Nadine. Since he was Alastair's favorite, he was declared the crown prince once he was born; for Nestor had no interest in ruling while Nathaniel was busy with other things like his studies and his social life.
Nathaniel and Nestor were sent to study in another kingdom when Kyle reached one year.
Kyle was a handsome child with blonde hair and blue eyes…
But those eyes began to turn blank and expressed dullness in its color and appearance just like his attitude; because everyday, he would witness his own father beating his mother, Oceana. If Kyle would cry, Alastair would hurt him too.
And one day, Alastair had had it with his wife, and he just snapped and shot her 20 times, killing her in front of their two youngest children, Nadine and Kyle.
Nadine was 12 at that time while Kyle was 8.
Kyle was already crying and Alastair was about to shoot him too, but Nadine got in the way because she was embracing her little brother to comfort him.
After the tragic incident, word reached Nathaniel and Nestor, which made them refuse to return to their motherland as long as their father is life.
…and Kyle never cried and he never smiled again.
Alastair continued to live, and Kyle dreaded each of his days in the palace with his father as he grew into a well-trained Prince. However, he was ruthless just like his father, and everyone feared him… and even if he was very handsome, no girl ever dreamed of becoming his Queen.
Still, he had a stubborn will to go against his father's wishes.
Kyle was 23 when his father captured the biggest rebel terrorist group in Eisenhower Kingdom. Their leader was Rico Allainaire and he had a wife named Joanne and a daughter named Reanna.
Reanna was a twenty-one year-old alchemist and she had long raven hair that was up to her waist; and lovely dark brown eyes which were very soulful and rather comforting to look at.
She was quiet but well-trained, even if she and her family belonged to the upper-middle class of the Kingdom.
When she found out that the horrible King Alastair imprisoned and sentenced her father to death, she came to the palace to plead for freedom, but he wouldn't even listen to her, so she went to the Prince.
Prince Kyle listened to her, but just told her to go home because he admitted that he couldn't do anything about her problem.
Disappointed and angered, Reanna left the palace.
But Kyle couldn't forget her…
And he could easily reminisce the moment he had first spoken with her… because when it happened, he felt so serene for the first time in several years, like there was nothing else to be concerned about but Reanna and Reanna alone.
He couldn't forget her lovely brown eyes and the way she gave him comfort by just looking at them…
And he wondered when he would be able to see her again…
The day of Rico Allainaire's execution became very historical. He was burned alive at the stake and several people witnessed the event. They felt sorry for him and they wanted to help him, but they knew that there was nothing else to do but to just stare at him, as he got burned alive.
Five days after the execution of Rico Allainaire, the rebel terrorist group that he once led to bring-about the downfall of the Dynasty became encouraged again to continue what Rico had failed to accomplish, but this time, with the help of Reanna.
She led her people to the palace and she was able to murder the horrible King Alastair as revenge for her father's death.
But, even her victory had a price to pay; she was arrested by Alastair's faithful generals and officers and was brought to the dungeon to be tortured and imprisoned there while they arranged the papers for her execution.
Her suffering due to tortures and severe whipping almost caused her death.
The generals and officers took everything from the Allainaire household and killed Joanne and the other people living there including the servants. They even sold the properties and the lots that the Allainaires owned to the bank.
When the papers were done, all they needed was the signature, permission and the Family Seal from their new King, Nicholas, formerly known as Kyle.
But the sly King knew what his father's generals and officers were up to, so he had another plan up his sleeve. When the papers reached him, he simply threw them in the fireplace and let it burn as the foolish generals and officers stared in horror and disbelief, while he sat in his office chair behind his office desk, processing the death papers of those generals and officers.
Nathaniel and Nestor learned about what Nicholas did and so they decided to go back to Eisenhower. Nestor had a good agenda; he would help his younger brother and assist him…
But Nathaniel had another option in mind… he would take the throne from Nicholas.
Nicholas freed Reanna and turned her into his general. The two had been a great team and the force of the Kingdom became more powerful than ever.
Reanna herself had a hidden plan: to trick Nicholas to believing that she's on his side and then kill him…
But each and every day of her work at the palace as his general, his only friend and his only assistant, she found herself drawn closer to him…
She cared too much for him.
It was the same for Nicholas; and somehow, whenever she's with him, he finds himself being too calm and peaceful… even by just looking at her…
… her eyes…
Since he was also an artist, he would often draw her eyes on several sheets of paper whenever there was nothing to do. He even did an oil painting of her eyes and displayed it in his room.
He even wrote in his journal that he could see the Heaven in her eyes… and he would definitely sacrifice everything he has just to be able to stare at them for eternity…
For that's where he found his comfort and serenity…
Years went by and the evil and ruthlessness in the King decreased, making life easier for others…
But Nathaniel didn't like the way things had become…
He and his wife, Ellena, wanted the throne, so they plotted against Nicholas.
They had to get rid of him…
Nicholas was 27 when he realized how much he loved Reanna Allainaire… and he asked for her hand in marriage.
They got engaged for a year but on the day of their wedding, Ellena had poisoned her brother-in-law's wine.
At the wedding reception, Reanna got thirsty due to the dancing, but her wine glass was already empty. Nicholas offered her his glass of wine and she took it, but as she was drinking it, she could easily taste the poison due to her experience as an alchemist. She thought that Nicholas poisoned the drink so that he could kill her on purpose to serve as revenge for his father's death. But she didn't stop drinking; she finished the whole drink, thinking that her death would finally bring satisfaction and happiness to him…
For his happiness was hers…
Reanna's death made Nicholas grieve so much that he ended up destroying his own life…
However, not all secrets could be kept forever, because he found out what Nathaniel and Ellena had plotted…
And he sentenced them to death.
After Nathaniel and Ellena's execution, Nicholas just stayed inside his room and refused to come out. He even locked himself inside.
He just sat by the window, crying his eyes out, wishing that Reanna was there to comfort him…
Wishing that for once again, he could look into her lovely eyes…
He loved her so much to just let go and forget her…
His only happiness had been taken away from him…
Weeks later, Nestor was really worried about his younger brother, so he decided to check on him whether Nicholas liked it or not…
But the door was still locked and he found out that Nicholas even refused to neither eat nor sleep so he had to destroy the door.
Nestor, together with a few cadets and 2 servants plus his wife and eldest son, got inside. They found Nicholas seated by the window holding a piece of bond paper with a sketch of someone's eyes…
Reanna's eyes...
…but he was already dead…
