“Unrequited”

By Dark Pegasus

The rain outside fall steadily

I now stand readily

Waiting for that moment in time

When loving you won’t be a crime

That moment in which our love takes flight

Lead me by the hand. Lead me to the light

The moment in which your smile is divine,

You are, to me, honestly sublime

If only for a moment you truly loved me back

I’d be happy forever. No longer I’ll have lack

Even if we’re shut out by the world’s shame

Just to be in your arms, I’ll have nothing to blame

If only I could know how you really felt inside

I’d be genuinely happy. Everything would fell right.

I don’t really care what other people will think or do

Just as long as, for that moment, I can be with you.

I know it’s just a dream. It shall never come to pass.

In your arms, I can feel my heart beating fast.

But because you won’t ever look me in the eye,

I feel as if everything told to me is a lie.

I know my love for you will go unreturned

But even in this sorrow, there’s a lesson to be learned

Now I know for sure that you won’t ever hold me.

I’m ill-fated to live alone so leave and let me be.
