Breaking Point

Look at me, I'm here again inside a perfect hell
These demon flames are burning though my broken, shattered shell
My bloody lips are screaming out these voiceless piercing cries
The truth of my awakening rains down from empty skies

My adversary paces, he is waiting for the kill
Demon flames are burning, but I can't fight off the chill
I chose this path, I chose this cold, I'm choosing not to feel
Blood can't wash away the pain; for shame can never heal

I see his face; it's different but somehow it's still the same
A smiling guise of kindness in a bitter, shattered frame
Chains of guilt around my wrists that bind me to the wall
Ghosts of fleeting memories, their destiny to fall

Escape is one more fantasy that I will never know
But such is love; an endless snare that started with, "Hello…"
The fault is mine, and now my sentence lingers in the air
The final strike comes flying fast to end this great affair

My soul has reached the breaking point, so let my justice come!
A flash of steel, a breath of life, and all things now are done
My lifeless eyes are sliding closed and heading to the light
My lonely tears may fall for what I used to be tonight.
