“Journey From Hope”

Tissues at my side, untouched

I am incapable of crying.

Driving, just driving

wherever this road will take me

unable to go home.

I entered Hope with you

Now I’m leaving Hope, alone.

Night is setting in

across the desert of my heart.

Me, bumping into you

I see your books fall

and remember picking them up.

The desert road is long and straight

allowing my mind to drift.....

You, drinking hot chocolate

in front of the fire,

arms wrapped around me.

Now I’m left wandering

with no place to go, nothing to do.

Following this long, empty road

no end in sight.

I loved no one but you.

I can’t turn back.

There’s nothing to go back to.

You’re gone, gone.

There’s nothing left at all.

My past is filled with wonders

I will never see again.

Unable to go home.

Driving, just driving

across this void desert

stretched out before me forever

wherever this road will take me.

Tissues at my side, untouched

as tears cascade down my face.
