An Almost Love Sonnet

The thought in your eyes reflects back to mine,
So I close my lids tight, just hold you while
Soft thrills from your fingers trail down my spine
And silent I stay only giving a smile

Our world is covered by sleep heavy eyes,
But even before my lids you appear.
I brush you away, along with the lies
To search for the truth I've lost to the years.

As I open my eyes, you ask me again,
And hold me captive in your gaze, so strong
Like your square fingers now bruising my hand
But they help me see where I now belong.

For an answer I kiss and stay quiet,
And grinning, you realize I am compliant.
