Chapter One
"My Goddess, he is hot"
"I know that. Why do you think I've been staring at him for the past hour?"
"Oh. Right"
"Idiot"
"Hey!" I exclaimed.
"Sorry. Just the thing I do"
The guy was extremely hot, and Mia couldn't keep her eyes off him. But he
hadn't paid any attention to her, which I thought extremely funny.
She grabbed my hand, and started walking towards him
"What are you doing, you crazy thing?"
"I'm gonna introduce us. We should be courteous and show him around. After
all, he is new."
"Whatever. Just don't be rude and leave me out of the conversation, like
you normally do."
As we were walking towards him, I got to have a good look at him. He was
wearing a pair of black pants, and a black button down shirt. He had black,
red, and purple hair. Definitely wicked. The jewellery he was wearing was
amazing. All silver. He had his tongue and his ear pierced. His necklaces
were an assortment of pentacles, Celtic crosses, and he even had an ankh or
two there. His bracelets and rings, well, they were pewter, you could tell
from the quality of them.
Even though he wore a lot of jewellery, it suited him well.
"Hi, I'm Mia, and this is Nerwen."
"Umm, hi." Funny, he was looking directly at me. It was like I spoke to him
in the first place.
"We thought we might show you around the school. Well, actually, it was my
idea. Nerwen here is a bit anti-social"
"Hey!"
"Well, it's true. I mean you are a Goth, after all. And you do practice
Witchcraft. Like, that is totally so old school."
Before we go on, maybe I should tell you about myself. I'm 17, female
(obviously) and I'm also a Goth. I practice Wicca, which is a form of
Paganism. And it is not old school. Now, Mia, she is the total opposite.
She's a choir girl for her local church, and she helps out there all the
time. She's into the school spirit, yet she's not a cheerleader. Or in any
clubs, for that matter. Oh well. She's one of the bubbly personalities. I'm
not.
"Look, I don't really appreciate it. You can give him the tour by yourself,
if you're gonna be like that." I told her. To him, I said "Look, I' m
sorry if you think I' m being rude, but I don't do stuff like give tours.
Before I go, I may as well ask your name"
"I don't think you're being rude at all. I do the same thing. I'm Lindar."
"Well, thanks. Isn't Lindar Elven for Bard?"
"So you speak Elven?"
"Only some"
"Your name is Elven, isn't it?"
"Umm, yes it is. For Jennifer, which is my birth name. I didn't really like
it that much, so I legally changed it. I'm now Nerwen Ancalimë."
We were slowly pushing Mia out of the conversation by totally ignoring her.
It wasn't my intention, but I think it was Lindar's. She now turned around
in a huf, and walked off!
We both stared after her, and I said "She likes to be the centre of
attention. Me, personally, am happy to sit in the corner with my book of
shadows and doodle."
"From what she blurted out, I'm guessing you are Wiccan." Lindar asked
"Yep, you got it in one."
"Ha. Would you like to go and talk somewhere?"
"Umm, sure. I can show you the school as we go, if you want"
"Um, ok then. Let's go."
So we walked around school, while I showed him all the sites, we talked. It
was like we had known each other for years, and were good friends. But,
eventually, we had to go in to class.
"I would love to discuss these things in more depth. Maybe we could go and
meet somewhere? Or maybe we could get some coffee after school" Lindar
enquired
"Are you asking me out? Like, on a date?"
"No. I mean, yes. Unless you don't want to, of course." He was!!!
"Well, I think I could manage to be sociable and go out with you. Would you
like to meet after school?"
"Sure. But we might have to walk somewhere. I don't have a car." He said,
looking embarrased
"Don't worry. I have one. Look, why don't you meet me here, say about 3
o'clock? We can go to one of the grunge café's they have in the
backstreets. I think youd like it there."
"Sure. Ill see you then"
I smiled at him, and then, to my amazement, he bowed to me!!! I was nearly
bowled over! How did I find a cute guy, who likes the same things as me,
and is intelligent, and also is a perfect gentleman. There must be
something wrong with him. Things like this don't happen to me!! I could
hardly wait until our date. I walked into the entrance doors, just thinking
about him. I may sound like a lovesick teenager, but I don't usually act
like this. Oh well, We'll see whats wrong with him in the coffee house.
