a hero lies within me

bringing strength and hope

and healing

beyond any words

a hero doesn't need to be famous

or in a war

my hero sleeps

waiting

ever patiently for the call

alas, my hero awakes

revived by need

fighting off despair

and blinding darkness

with screaming silver blade

and enduring golden shield

defending

from hate and

scheming evil

a figure of pride and modesty

for having

survived

such a brutal attack

cleaning injuries

and wiping valiant sword

that is silent now the battle has stopped

my hero

is a statue hidden

again

invisible

resting

until the deafening

yet always desperate

cry

rings clearly

and my hero awakes

once more
