Author's Note- First off, I am SO sorry for not posting anything new or updating. I've just had a huge case of writers block. I haven't been able to work on anything, then we moved and I was away from home for a month and I have a new job, but they cut my hours, hopefully that'll mean more time for my writing. Thanks for sticking with me, I promise to try to update EVERYTHING that's not finished soon. Enjoy.

"Hey," Nicole, known as Nikki to her friends, said walking up to Eve. Nicole was a petit dark skinned girl. Her hair was short dark almost black and she wore it down. Her eyes were chocolate. She was a logical thinker with all A's despite the fact that she was hardly ever attended classes due to clubs. Eve was Nicole's best friend and also her complete opposite. Eve had emerald green eyes and long blond hair that she wore in a bun. Her featherweight glasses gave her a sophisticated look, but she was really a dreamer.

"What's up?" Eve asked in her usual relaxed voice. Nikki shrugged.

"We just got two new students," Nikki told her. "Two guys."

"How do you know these things?" Eve asked.

"I have my ways," Nikki said proudly.

Eve spotted two boys standing near a fountain. Both were dressed in black leather jackets and sunglasses. One had short spiked sandy brown hair. The other had black hair and an extremely handsome face. "That them?"

"Yeah," Nikki said. "Oh! I need to go to Yearbook. Bye!" She walked away.

"Bye!" Eve called. She paused and closed her eyes savoring the feel of the wind on her face.

"Hey," a deep, almost, hypnotic voice said as a hand settled on her shoulder. Eve jumped- startled. There was a quiet chuckle. "Sorry." She opened her eyes to stare into a pair of sunglasses. The owner was the boy with the handsome face. He was smiling- amused by her reaction.

"Uh, hi," Eve said.

"I'm Damien," he said. "I'm new here, this is my brother Xavier." The other boy nodded. "Could you show us where Room 124 is?"

"Sure," Eve said. "It's my homeroom anyhow. Follow me." She led the way and the two new students followed close behind.

"What's your first period class?" Damien asked.

"Creative Writing with Mr. E.," Eve told him as they reached the room. Damien offered her an enticing grin.

"See ya there," Damien said. He and Xavier walked to the front desk as Eve took her usual seat. Michelle, a sort of snobbish girl, turned around.

"Those guys are so hot!" she whispered to Eve. "What are they like?"

"They're like guys," Eve said arching an eyebrow.

"Yeah, but you talked to them," Michelle said. "I would nearly kill to do that." Eve lightly rolled her eyes. "They are so hot!" she said again.

"It's not like they're Greek gods," Eve said with gentle sarcasm that she knew the other girl would miss. "They're normal guys." She didn't see the exchange of glances between Xavier and Damien.

Mr. E was an elder balding man. He ran his class strictly but fairly. His students loved him and anyone could see that he loved his job. "Love," Mr. E said. "It's a human emotion. It's also the subject of today's class."

He paced in front of the room. "I want each of you to write a poem on love. Keep it clean." In the last ten minutes of class Mr. E spoke again. "Do I have any volunteers?" Eve yawned. "Thank you, Evelyn." Eve groaned and stood. She began to read. As she read she made eye contact with the class, but mainly Damien.

"I call this piece 'The Passion and the Fire,'" Eve said dramatically.

~*~

"Just one night

It's enough

Just one kiss

Then go

I love you

But I hate you

I don't want you

But I can't live without you

This passion of mine consumes me

Takes over my heart like a wild fire

Out of control

You think you know me

But you know only my heart

That burns for you

Please-

I can't live like this!

I can't put out this passion-

This fire burning in my heart!

If you believe you're brave enough

Come into the fire."

The guys went wild. "You just like testing me, don't you?" Mr. E asked with a smile. Eve looked at him innocently "Well, it was nicely written and you had a good delivery. Any other volunteers?" He looked around the room. "Damien Quinn." Damien stood and walked to the front of the room and began to read.

~*~

"You smile

And lights dim

You seem to glow

You're so radiant.

I only wish that someday

You'll smile for me

You look my way

And my heart stops

I hope that you'll see me

But you only look away

You stand among friends

Playing with your hair

Never even seeing me

My love burns in me

But you refuse to see

So I only watch

The world wouldn't understand

But what do they know?

All I need is you"

There was complete silence, suddenly the room exploded in applause. They weren't used to guys actually writing poetry about love. "Very nice," Mr. E commented. The bell rang. The class poured out talking. Eve gathered her notebooks and slowly walked to the door.

"Eve," Damien called. She paused waiting for him. "Could you show me where Room 183 is?"

"Yeah sure," Eve said. She walked ahead wondering why it was that every time he spoke her heart skipped a beat.

Later that day

Eve sat down tiredly at the lunch table. Nikki sat across from her and began to chat about the various meetings she had had during the day. "And Mr. Michaels wants me to show the new boys around and tell them about clubs- stuff like that. I was wondering if you could possibly do that for me?"

"Sure," Eve said. "Consider it payback for that time you helped me with my Math. What's with those glasses?"

"I don't know," Nikki admitted as she looked at her watch. "I have to go. I have a meeting."

"For?" Eve asked.

"I'll know when I get there," Nikki said. "I just know that I have a meeting at 12:15. I'll talk to you later." She walked away pausing to talk to the Quinn brothers who were walking in. They sat down at Eve's table.

"Is she always like that?" Damien asked.

"Like what?" Eve asked.

"So intense and perky," Damien said. "It's scary."

"Pretty much," Eve said. "Can I see your schedules?" Damien handed his to her. Xavier fished his out of his book bag and also handed it to her. "Do you guys want me to show you around?"

"Sure," Damien said. "It's better than getting lost which I have already done."

"Eve," a young man said walking up to them. The young man was Justin. His tall frame, wavy blond hair and light blue eyes pegged him as the all- American boy. He had a smile that could be used in an advertisement for a toothpaste commercial. He was the captain of the football and wrestling teams, which completed that image. He glanced at her companions before continuing. "I need to talk to you." Clearly annoyed Eve followed him. "I can't get you off my mind."

"Really?" Eve asked. "That's odd `cause I already forgot you."

"Okay," Justin said. "I deserved that."

"No," Eve told him. "What you'd deserve is if I'd make it to where you couldn't have children!" A couple people applauded. Eve blushed realizing how loud she had been speaking.

"Eve I'm sorry," Justin pleaded.

"I don't care!" Eve yelled not caring who heard her anymore. "What you did was unforgivable and you can apologize all night and I still wont care! Just get out of my life!" She turned around and walked back to the table.

Xavier regarded her with a smile. "Wow," he said finally speaking.

"What'd he do?" Damien asked.

"Long story," Eve said. "Do you guys want me to show you around?" Damien nodded. They followed her into the hall. She was silent a few seconds before deciding to continue. "Well, the short version: we didn't do any- thing but the entire school thinks we did. And the added bonus is that in between spreading rumors about me, he somehow found the time to sleep with a good friend of mine."

"Okay, I repeat," Xavier said. "Wow."

"Now," Eve said, "he follows me to some of my classes. He always shows up when I even speak to another guy. Okay this is the science lab." She led them to a dark hallway. "The gym is down that way. Any other rooms?"

"English," Xavier said.

"Okay," Eve said. She led them to the other side of the school. "This is the English wing." The bell rang.

"Where's Room 179?" Xavier said. Eve led him to the room.

After that, she and Damien walked to a room. "I guess I should fill you in on the clubs," Eve said. "We have band, choir, FFA, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), TNT (Teens Need Teens), Yearbook, and newspaper. There are also others that I'm probably missing. You should talk to Nikki if you want to know about clubs, since she's in almost all of them."

"What are you in?" Damien asked looking at her intently.

"Choir," Eve told him. "I was on the newspaper staff, but I got kicked off for insinuating that the coach of the football team was giving the players steroids." Damien chuckled. They walked into class.

All through choir Eve kept thinking of Damien. She missed a couple notes causing the people sitting near her to glare at her. After class Nikki approached her and asked eagerly: "Which one?"

Eve frowned regarding her friend. "What?"

"Which one of the Quinn brothers?" she pressed. "You obviously have it bad and I don't know any guys that you would even think about dating, so which one?"

"Damien," Eve whispered.

Nikki shook her head. "Personally, I prefer Xavier, don't tell your brother," she said. "I heard you and Justin got in a fight."

"He wanted me to get back together with him," Eve said with a shrug. "I politely refused."

"Politely?" Nikki asked with a smile. "Yeah right. Amy told me that you were a second away from beating him up."

"Well I wouldn't quite go that far," Eve said. "First he tells all of his buddies that I slept with him, then *he* sleeps with Jackie, now he wants me back! That is so not going to happen. I'm not some girl that he can toy around with."

"You go girl," Nikki said warmly.

"Hey," Justin called walking after Damien. "Wait up, man." Damien kept walking forcing Justin to jog to catch up to him. He walked in front of Damien forcing him to stop walking.

"What do you want?" Damien demanded.

"I want you to stay away from Eve," Justin said.

Damien laughed at him. "What I do with her is none of your business."

"I believe it is, pretty boy," Justin said. Damien rolled his eyes and started to turn around and walk away. He then noticed a couple of Justin's friends, huge guys, standing behind him. "I warned you." Damien rolled his eyes and allowed himself to be pushed into the gym.
