"I'm telling you, it would work!" my friend Daniel insisted, walking beside me and aping my every step.
"Wouldn't the tigers get off the track and maul people?"
"Well. . . they'd be specially trained."
"Tell Roy from Seigfried and Roy that."
"I still say it's a great idea!"
Just then, a girl emerged from the crowd, beaming. A shock of blue hair distracted from all her other features. Immediately she approached Daniel and threw her arms around him.
"Hey love," she said.
"Hi," he smiled back at her affectionately. She reached up, gave him a small kiss on the lips, and retreated off into the crowd.
"Dude," I stared in awe, "You didn't tell me you had a girlfriend!"
Daniel turned back to me, a euphoric grin still occupying his face. "I have never seen that girl before in my life."
"Wh. . . what?"
"Never met her. Don't think I've ever even seen her in the halls."
"Well then what the hell was that!?"
"Search me. But hey, if you were in that situation, would you really have done anything different?"
"No, I suppose not."
"Hey Daniel," Ben's voice came from behind us, causing us both to jump a little. He had a habit of sneaking up on people, which he swore he didn't do on purpose. Really didn't help him get girls though. "I didn't know you were with Michelle."
"Michelle. . . so that's her name. . ."
"You didn't know her name?"
"He's never seen her before," I interjected, "We're as lost as you are."
"That's Michelle Cartwright, she's in my english class. Never really talked to her. . . she doesn't seem to wanna talk to anyone. Once I got assigned to do a group project with her, and when I tried to ask her about something she hissed at me and attempted to bite off one of my fingers."
"Woah. . ."
"Got a pretty strong hold with her jaw. . . Ms. Nelson had to pry her off me. . ."
"Hey man, don't talk about my girlfriend like that!"
"She's not your girlfriend," I groaned.
"Well what is she then?"
"I don't know, but you should probably find out."

A few hours and two excruciating classes later; Daniel, Chris and I sat down to lunch.
"So, you got no clue who this chick is?" laughed Chris, who had just been filled in on the details of the morning.
"Not the foggiest," Daniel replied.
"Maybe she's mistaking you for another guy."
"Maybe."
"If there's another guy out there who looks like Daniel, we should all be very afraid. . ." I joked.
"Shut up."
I saw the blue hair before anything else. Seemingly out of nowhere, Michelle apparated, embracing Daniel again.
"This her?" whispered Chris in my ear.
"Yeah," I hissed, "Enjoy the show."
"Uh. . . excuse me for asking this. . ." began Daniel, "But. . . who are you?"
Michelle blinked. "What are you saying?"
"I. . . I'd just kinda like to know."
She pulled away, "Are you saying, I'm a different person from when we started out, you think I've changed!?"
"Well, uh, that's the thing. . . 'when we started out' is kind of a foggy area for me."
"What!?"
"I. . . I have no idea what's going on right now. . ."
Michelle's eyes flamed. "I can't believe you! One minute you're telling me you love me, the next you don't know who I am!? Does what we had together mean nothing to you!?"
The people around us began to stare, a crowd even started to form.
"You say I've changed!" she howled, beginning to get red in the face, "You're the one who's changed! I never wanna see your face again!" Micelle turned on her heel and stormed off, pushing her way through the ring of people staring.
Daniel plopped back down in his seat, clutching his head in his hands. "I've got to talk to about her, do I? Thanks for screwing up my relationship man."
"It wasn't a relationship."
Chris eyed the sea of spectators that had formed itself around us. "Can we move to another table or something?"
"Yeah alright," Daniel grunted dejectedly, gathering his stuff and standing. We all made our way through the crowd, which began to dissipate as soon as they saw us leaving. I looked over my shoulder and scanned the people still seated at their tables- immediately I picked out the shock of bright blue hair. There was Michelle, her arms around a guy who looked just as surprized as Daniel had been.
I smirked to myself and followed my friends.
