The sun was shinning bright when Danielle Star woke up. She got up and looked at herself in the mirror. She saw her silvery gray eyes staring back at her, and her long wavy brunette hair. Danielle also known as Danni, was a very pretty girl but she didn't care.

She wore baggy and usually muddy clothes. Danni never cared what anyone thought of her, even if it was her best friend in the whole world, Kevin Smith. Just then there was a knock on the door. "Come in," Danni said not moving from her spot.

Kevin walked into the room a few seconds later, "Hey sleepy-head, I've been over here for an hour already," Kevin said grinning.

"Like you've never slept in," Danni replied.

"That's not the point you know," Kevin said sitting in her chair.

"Yes it is Kevy," She said ruffling his black hair.

"Aw Danni, you messed it up!" He whined.

Danni rolled here eyes and grabbed a pair of shorts and a tank top out of her closet. "Get out Kevin I need to change," Danni said pushing him out of her door.

"You know Danni it's not like I've never seen a girl naked," He managed to say before the door came closing in his face.

"Well you're not going to see this chick naked," Danni said locking the door just in case.

She quickly got dressed and opened the door, and started walking down stairs. When she reached the bottom a pair of strong arms grabbed her and picked her up. Danni let out a yelp of surprise, as she was set back down, quickly she turned around to find Kevin grinning.

"You ass!" She said slapping his arm.

"Geez Danni," He said laughing.

She looked into his blue eyes and smiled, that's what she loved about Kevin, he always knew how to put her in a good mood. As Kevin walked ahead of her and out to the barn Danni looked at him.

He was about 6'2 with her being 5'8. He had a small tan, also black spiky hair. Danni's favorite feature of Kevin was his eyes, they were a deep sapphire blue. "You know staring is considered rude, but from you I'll take it as a complement," Kevin said grinning.

"Don't hold your breath I wasn't staring at you," Danni said slightly blushing.

"Aw, I think it's cute," Kevin said coming up to her and kissing her cheek.

"Ugh, Kevin, waaay too much love," She said wiping her cheek.

Kevin just laughed and walked into the barn to feed the horses. Danni lived on a barn/farm. They took care of horses that had been abandoned or abused. At the moment they had 13 horses with them: Spirit, Braveheart, Chancy, Jasper, Mickey, Passion, Pepsi, Fizz, Toby, Zeus, Sassy, Spanky, and Pixie.

Kevin and Danni fed the horses quicker than usual and that was odd being as they were missing a stablehand, Seth. "That idiot is late again!" Danni said sighing in frustration.

"I don't know why you guys hired him," Kevin said laughing dryly.

"Kevy we know your jealous but you don't ALWAYS have to show it," She said smiling sweetly.

"Don't kid yourself sweetie," He said mocking her smile.

"Hey guys, come on, I got some lunch for you!" Roger Star called out to them.

"Come on Kevy," Danni said grabbing his arm and walking up to the house with him.

Kevin and Danni weren't really shy friends, they hugged and kissed but it meant nothing big. They really only had each other, Danni liked to keep to herself, and Kevin grew up in a bad house, that's pretty much all there is to tell.

Seth didn't show up until three hours after he was due. "What the hell is your problem?" Danni asked quite frustrated with him.

"I had a fight with my girlfriend," Seth said looking down.

"You guys fought for three hours?" Kevin asked chuckling.

" we kind of made up after an hour," Seth said blushing.

"SETH!" Danni said twisting her face in disgust. "TMI!"

Seth shrugged "You guys asked."

"Just help me get Chancy out, I need to work with her again," Danni said walking into the barn.

Danni and Seth got her out into the pasture, Chancy had a bad kicking problem, but she was doing so much better. Danni figured she was ready to be moved out of her stall, at least into the pasture.

"Danni, be careful!" Kevin said standing off to the side.

"Don't worry yourself Kev. I got this," Danni said stroking the horse.

Suddenly Seth's girlfriend pulled up. "Seth baby!" She shouted.

That was all it took to get Chancy spooked. She reared back and her hooves came crashing onto Danni.
