Danni gaped at her not being able to respond to what she had said. "W-What do you mean?" Danni choked out.

"Danni, I haven't always been there for you, well hell, I've never been there for you. Now is my chance to change that, or at least try and make it better. I've watched you over the weeks. Before Kevin surprised you, you were miserable. While he was here . . . well you were so happy; I didn't see you without a smile. And now that he's gone again you're miserable again.

"I don't want you to be miserable anymore. I can't help but feel somewhat guilty, I mean I begged you into coming here to be with me, that was selfish. But I want to fix that I want to send you back to Nebraska but Tom and I want to go with you, we want to be part of your life." Cindy said with tears glossing her eyes.

"Y-you guys still want to be part of my life even though I've been rude and snappy towards you? I-I don't know what to say. I mean I'm sorry it didn't work here, but I'm so happy you still want to be a part of my life." Danni said smiling.

Cindy embraced Danni and whispered, "How could you think that I want anything else?"

A few more words were spoken and they began packing as so as they could.

-

Two days later everything they were going to take with was packed. The plane was leaving in an hour; Danni was doing a quick survey of her room making sure she left nothing. When everything was clear she headed downstairs.

As she walked she thought about her parents, not Tom and Cindy, but Roger and Desiree. She wondered how they were holding up, if Desiree had replaced her at the barn, if they missed her. Danni stopped right there. Of course they missed her! She was under their roof for sixteen years.

"What are you thinkin' so hard about?" Cindy asked interrupting Danni's thoughts.

"Oh, uh, actually I was thinking about my parents," Danni softly replied.

Guilt washed over her when she saw the look on Cindy's face. "Oh, okay," she said sadly.

"Cindy, I'm sorry but they are my parents. Someday I might be able to see you and Tom as that. I mean I still want you guys here and everything but, they've been here my whole life, never leaving me." Danni said still feeling bad about hurting her.

"I understand Danni, don't worry about it." Cindy said grinning weakly. "Let's get to the airport."

-

Danni sat in her chair and clutched the armrests. 'I hate planes' she thought bitterly. 'They're always so high up and . . .' she shuddered.

"Don't worry the plane isn't due to crash today," a stewardess said grinning.

Danni forced out a laugh, when the stewardess walked away Danni turned to Tom. "If this plane crashes I want her to burn!" she declared.

"Okay, I'll make sure it happens," Tom joked.

For the rest of the plane ride Danni hardly said anything. She was excited, happy, nervous, heck she probably felt every emotion in the book. Danni glanced out the window and her stomach did a flip. "Please God, forgive the stupid stewardess for jinxing this flight . . . I wanna live to see tomorrow please!" Danni prayed.

Tom and Cindy looked at each other and laughed softly at Danni. "It'll be-- ," but Danni cut her off.

"Don't you dare say fine, that'll jinx everything!" Danni warned.

Tom, Cindy, and Danni said not another word until the plane landed.

-

Kevin walked into the barn to be greeted by whinnies of hungry horses. "Yeah, yeah I'm comin'," Kevin said walking back into the tack room to mix the feed.

No matter how much he wanted to Kevin couldn't concentrate on what he was doing. His mind kept wondering to Danni and if she was all right, and such. Her face was stuck in his head, especially her silvery gray eyes.

It was like he could see forever in those eyes.

Kevin heard Pepsi kick her stall door. He looked back at the horse and the horse's face seemed to say 'get your head out of the gutter and get my food!'

The horses were getting fed later than usual so Kevin tried to speed up the process of mixing their food but it didn't work like he wanted, he kept sliding off track when he thought of Danni. But the horses wouldn't let him stray off for long . . . they wanted their food and they wanted it now.

Kevin finally had everyone fed. The horses ate greedily as Kevin walked out to the far pasture; this pasture reminded him of Danni (but what didn't?). They spent many nights out in the pasture just talking. Kevin had first seen her cry there.

"Now that I think about it . . . I really should have brought you back with me Danni," Kevin whispered.

He was so busy missing Danni that he didn't notice the rental car pull up in front of the house.

-

Danni practically jumped out of the car and ran to the front door of the house. She knocked eagerly and opened the door not being able to wait. "Mom, dad!" she shouted happily.

Roger and Desiree both appeared and smiled, their smiles lit up the room. "Danni!" Desiree shouted scooping her up in a bear hug.

"Oh mom, dad, I missed you guys so much!" Danni squealed jumping into Roger's arms.

"What are you doing back?" Roger asked not believing she was standing in front of them.

"I'm home . . . this is where I belong, I don't belong in New York with Cindy, I'm needed here with you guys." Danni replied.

Danni turned around to Cindy and Tom. "They still want to be a part of my life, so they're moving down here. I thought we could all get together and learn about each other."

"That sounds wonderful," Desiree replied.

Danni smiled at her, then she looked around the house. "Where's Kevin?" she asked trying her hardest to sound casual.

Tom, Cindy, Roger, and Desiree all knew how much Danni wanted to see them. It made the four adults smile and remember when they were young and in love. "In the pasture sweetheart," Roger answered.

Danni walked out of the house and down to the barn. She decided she'd give Kevin a bit more time alone before going down there. As soon as she walked into the barn it erupted with neighs of happiness. "I missed you guys too," Danni said chuckling.

She walked around to each horse and gave it a proper hello. Each one seemed to say the same thing. 'Where the hell were you? Seth got all our food mixed up and Kevin could never get here one time'

"Well thanks it's good to know how much I was missed," Danni said sarcastically.

When Danni was finished greeting the horses she made her way quietly down to the pasture. Kevin's tall form came into view and Danni smiled. She then realized how much she actually missed him, and she had only been away from him a small number of days.

He had a far away look on his face; Danni found that look to be quite sexy. She walked over and stood next to him but she stayed silent. A few minutes later she finally spoke, "It's a beautiful evening isn't it?" she asked.

"Yeah it-," he stopped and turned.

Danni grinned. "I was wondering how long it'd take you to notice me."

"W-what are you doing here?" Kevin asked.

"I'm home . . . this is my home, not New York." Danni replied.

Kevin smiled and brought Danni into a tight embrace. "I missed you Danni," he whispered.

"I missed you too Kev," she said.

Danni pulled back and stared into his sapphire colored eyes. They were sparkling in a beautiful way. She then captured his lips with her own. Without thinking about it he parted his lips and Danni's tongue invaded his mouth greedily. After a few minutes they pulled apart.

"What was that for?" he asked.

"I've been waiting to do that since you boarded the plane," Danni said with a flirty wink.

"So you're here to stay?" Kevin asked.

"Forever and ever," Danni replied.

"You know what? I see myself spending forever with you," Kevin said grinning.

Danni smiled and blushed faintly. "I see me doing the same."

And that my friends is exactly what they did . . .
