Petals fall slowly to the streets
Sway and transform
The pink feathers continue on
Towards the ground.
A soft blanket of heaven
Like a low cloud of sunrise shades
The land returns to peace
But she isn't around anymore..
The gentle arms of the wind
Carry the petals to horizons new
Caressing them as they dance
To consider the silence.
Like rose-coloured snowflakes
They scatter across the land
Searching for the answer of her disappearance
And the question of his tears.
The sky turns to royal purple
As the sun burns in his heart
He picks up a velvet feather
And thinks of how she has gone
Leaving him with a gift of petals.
