"We know you're in there." one of the military men said on the other side of the door. "Come out no--"

Adam went from frieghtened to puzzled when the man stopped speaking mid-sentence. A moment later, there was another knock at the door. Adam looked out the peephole once again and saw another new man looking directly at the hole.

"Don't worry. I'm here to help." the man told Adam. He hesitated for a moment, then finally opened the door.

The first thing he noticed were the military men knocked out on the ground. "Who are you?" Adam asked.

"There's no time. They could wake any minute. If you want an explanation, you need to come with me. Now." The stranger replied.

Adam thought it through for a bit. "Okay. Let's go."

Adam sat down on a small chair in the house this mysterious man has brought him to. The house looked very condemned. "Alright. I'm here. Spill."

The man pulled up a similar chair and sat down in from of Adam. "I'm from the same planet that you're from. You were hibernating in the spacepod that brought you here. But there was a malfunction. The thunder bolt fried the pod's computer system before it could implant your mind with your mission here on this planet. The malfunction caused you to lose all memory of your true alien self. And crashland. I was sent here to help you."

"I had a life on this other planet?" Adam asked.

"Yes. Family, a girlfriend. I was one of your best friends." the man said.

"This is.. unbelievable." Adam said. "What's your name? Maybe it will help me remember something."

"The human tongue is too.. simple.. to pronounce the words of our planet. Just call me.. Zachary."

"Okay. What is this 'mission' you say I sent here for?" Adam wondered.

"Well, it's a very serious one. You were sent here to--" Zachary suddenly hears something that Adam doesn't and shuts up.

"What?" Adam asked.

"Shh. We may have been followed." Zachary whispered, listening.

Moments later, the door is busted down by guys in black suits. They fire warning shots into the air before aiming them at Adam and Zachary. They parted to let a familiar face through. "Why wasn't I invited to this party?"

"You were at my door earlier." Adam remembers.

"Let me introduce myself. I'm General Coleman. I'm the man you crippled that night in 1994." Coleman said, motioning to his false arm.

Adam remembered him now. From the night he crashed... "What do you want?"

"You." Coleman motioned with his real arm and the men in black fired thier weapons at Zachary. Zachary fell to the floor and began to bleed. Then they grabbed Adam and tragged him out the doorway.

Adam's eyes opened. He was no longer in that gross house. He was in someplace worse. He tried to move his arms and legs, but he could not. He was restrained to a dentist-like chair in the center of a very dark room.

Coleman appeared from the darkness. "Let me ask you something. Why are you here?"

"Well, you brought me here. I think you would know." Adam replied.

"Don't play smart with me, alien." He spit out the word as if it were a racial remark. "Why are you here on Earth?"

"I have no idea." Adam said, trying not to show his fear.

"You must be here for a reason." Coleman told him. "Other than to take away my arm."

"Oh. I'm truly sorry about that. I was much more.. different then." Adam apologized.

"Lies." Coleman said. "Now... tell me why you were sent here. Or I will be forced to make you tell me."

"I still have no idea." Adam shrugged.

"Have it your way..." Coleman pulled out something from under Adam, within the chair. He touched the wand to Adam's bare stomach and waves of electricity flowed through him for a full thirty seconds. Adam screamed.

"Do you remember yet?" Coleman asked.

"NO!" Adam told him.

"Alright." Coleman put away the wand and took out a scalpel. He began to cut into Adam's flesh, with no preparations whatsoever. The pain showed on Adam's face.

"Stop!" Adam screamed.

And Coleman did. "Will you tell me now?"

"I said I don't know!" Adam yelled.

Coleman raised his scalpel to continue cutting. But when he looked upon Adam's chest, he saw the cut he had made only moments ago already healing itself. A surprised look appeared on Coleman's face. Adam looked down, and surprise took over his face as well. "My.. my god." Coleman muttered.

Just then, a man jumped from the darkness and took out Coleman with a wave of his hand. Coleman fell to the floor at Zachary's feet.

"I thought.. they killed you." Adam said as Zachary was loosening his restraints.

"You just saw it for yourself." Zachary replied. "We aren't that easy to kill. Now let's go."

"I'm sorry." Zachary muttered as he and Adam sat down at an outside restaurant.

"For what?" Adam asked, placing a fry in his mouth. Adam had payed for dinner.

"For underestimating the enemy. That Coleman guy placed a tracking device on me as I took him out at your door." Zachary explained.

"Ah. That's alright. Just try not to let it happen again." Adam said. "So... what about this 'mission' I was sent here for?"

"Before I tell you why you went sent here, I must ask you something. ...Are you willing to sacrifice everything human you've built for yourself here on Earth?" Zachary asked. "Because fulfilling the mission means you may not be able to go back to your human life ever again."
