Change of Time
Chapter One
“You have to be careful Poofy.” Annie said to her dog walking ahead, “You don’t want to run into a mud puddle, again. I can’t give you anymore baths.”
They were on their way to see how her sister, Kay, was doing on her new job as a hotel manager assistant. Annie had a long time crush on the hotel manager’s son and she was planning on to run in to him today accidentally.
“Ding-dong…” The giant clock on that rook of the hotel rang. “It’s one already.” Annie said with surprise. “Come on, we need to hurry!”
There was a sudden silence.
“Poofy?”
The came something fluffy from behind and knocked Annie of her feet and caused her to flip in to a mud puddle in front of her.
“Wazzup Annie? Are you okay?” Confusion ran over his face as he held out his hand to offer to help.
“Hi, Kio. I’m okay,” Annie’s face turned slightly pink and looked down giving Poofy a smirk.
“Oh…” Kio sighed.” Well see you later.”
Watching Kio’s back disappear in to the trees, Annie was too depressed to go do anything, so she decided to go home and hide her face forever.
“What’s wrong Annie?” Came Kay’s voice. She walked into the living room and dropped into the nearest armchair.
“I have just embarrassed myself in front of Kio.” There was sorrow in Annie’s voice. She buried her face in her hands and began to sob.
“Come on now, don’t cry like that, you know it’s not such a big thing.” Kay moved next to Annie and held her tight in her chest. Annie had always loved to lay her head on Kay’s chest. It was warm and loving and she always enjoyed counting Kay’s heart beat.
Annie wiped her eyes dry with her selves. “I’m thirsty,” Annie said walking clumsily toward the kitchen. Kay followed.
“I just wish it never happened.” Annie spook in a sorrowful tone while opening a can of soda.
“But it did honey.” Kay said trying to explain.
“ I know, where is that Time Machine when you need it.” Annie said hopefully something helpful would appear.
“You know that it’s impossible to go back to the past right?” There was concern in Kay’s voice.
“But with the help of the time machine, it would be easy!” Annie spook in pride and interest.
“Annie dear, how many times do I have to explain to you that there is no such thing as Time Machine or Time Travel Board or any of those made up machines you watch on TV.”
“Prove it!” Annie’s face stretched into a hot air balloon. She jumped up knocking the chair she was sitting in against the garbage can.
“Annie Elizabeth Walker! Clean up that mess and go to your room!”
Annie didn’t listen, she started running toward the front door, but Kay ran behind her and grabbed her by her wrist. “Let me go!” Annie shouted while struggling to breakout.
“Why can’t you listen for once!” Kay argued.
“You are the worst big sister ever!” Annie screamed on top of her voice.
“I wish I never had to see you again!” Kay jumped out.
Annie disappeared up stairs and fled into her room and slammed the door behind her. She threw her self on her bed and burst into tears. After a long time of sobbing, she fell asleep, when she finally woke up, she gazed out the window. It was noon already and the sun was blazing hot. Annie decided to go explore in the woods, the fight she had was locked in her mind so deep that she could never forget.
Dressed in light sky blue t-shirt and comfortable jeans, Annie turned her doorknob and slid the door open. Everything was quiet and still. Kay had left for work and Poofy was asleep. She decided to exclude Poofy in this journey. She tip toed across the living room and stepped near the front door and unlocked it. Opening a gap just big enough for her, Annie stepped out side.
Sun shining on her light brown hair that made it seem redder then ever. She ran freely through the spring green forest. She remembered all the creatures she had met during her times of explore. Jumping over broken down branches, Annie ran through a deep green world with no worry what so ever of getting lost. She had been here many times that it would be impossible for her to get lost. It was her world. Her own, no one not even Kay can stop her. She was free and relaxed.
Suddenly, she stopped her foot and stood there motionless. Her mouth opened with surprise. “Ah…” She gasped.
