The Split Path
I’m in your arms, do you feel me?
or can u simply gape?
if this is not love u feel,
must be lust, or maybe rape

I’m right in front of you,
if you’re not blind, then how do you explain?
I’ve got you in a corner
nothing’ll make me leave, not snow, wind or rain

the tears creep up slowly,
to my eyes, then yours
how could you betray me like this?
when for you, I opened my doors

now the only warmth that’s lacking
is in that thing you call your heart
we always shared that dream together
our paths to never part

and so you go be unfaithful
the repayment that I get
if our world was becoming too dull
you know you needn’t fret

I glance down momentarily
become fixated with my shoes
if I don’t have you, who do I turn to?
Drugs, meaningless sex and booze?

Those are good for an easy thrill
but the pain it can’t erase,
I’m afraid of living a day with out you
only you I can’t replace

I draw it out, my knife, it gleams
I see you squirm in alarm
I thrust it fast and sharp and straight
and die happily in your arm
