Author's Note: If I managed to jerk anyone from the coziness of 's "Run to Me", HI!!!! Well, guess what? You're in for a treat. This fic is about me (LeFox) and someone else we all know and *cough*hate*cough* love, FoxFury! Azrael's Servant has teamed up with Diablo Moon (sort of...), and produced a story that stays mostly true to our personalities! There are a few moments in here that really stand out. Any time we're arguing, for example. And both times we start talking during a pause in the battle. The "planet blowing up" thing is an inside joke...

~Chapter One: LeFox and FoxFury

The forest around them was quiet, peaceful. The two young fox-demons sat and watched the enemy camp, their sharp ears pricked to hear any sign of the expected approaching army. The younger of the two, a fennec, swished her tail anxiously, her icy blue eyes dancing with anticipation. "Sit still," the other demoness whispered, though her fingers drummed impatiently on her emerald-green sword hilt. "Oh, stop the dramatic attitude. You can't wait for it any better than I can, and you know it," the younger said, smiling sardonically. The older girl smirked. "Whatever." she said, leaning against the nearest tree. Her blond hair fell over her odd-colored eyes, clashing against her pale skin. The twelve- year-old fennec girl laughed quietly. "...You reds are all the same." she said, referring to the other girl's red fox kin. She succeeded in getting another smirk from the thirteen-year-old. "Like you desert demons are any better? I could kill twice as many of them-" she gestured to the enemy, "- as you could." she finished. The brown-haired fennec flicked her tongue over her eye teeth. "I bet I can kill more guys than you." she said, baiting the other demoness. It worked, as usual. "...You're on."

Inside the camp, the air was still. Deathly still. The troops sat in full armor, expecting the opposing army to arrive any minute. The leader sat in his tent silently, waiting for the call that would symbol the arrival of his enemy. He held his sword in one hand, his helmet in the other. His horse stamped the ground nervously outside, watching the prisoners from the last skirmish huddle together in their small cages. They were mostly demons... the leader spat on the ground, walking out to see them. He spat on them. They looked almost human, but they were anything but. They had ears, eyes, tails... of various creatures. A few had beaks and wing-like arms. They were cramped in the cages like the animals they really were. It amazed him that the feline and canine creatures could huddle against each other like brothers and not fight.

The soldiers paced anxiously, looking toward the horizon. They awaited a huge army of demons sent by the king and his daughter. That army... they were by far the most feared legion in the world. The different demons had different skills and attacks; attacks that no one could ever plan against. And because these skills were harbored within them at birth, they could not forget them. They had no natural enemy beyond the human race, they had no real fear. And that terrified their waiting enemy. The swords of the demon army were, for the most part, no different from those of the humans. There were, however, exceptions... some were swords of light that could pierce armor like scissors through paper. Some were formed from stone, heavy and deadly. Some were actually plants, enchanted to form steel and metal, that responded only to the enchanter. Some were made of the elements-fire, ice, water, lightning. Some were venomous. Some were made from bone and blood. The weapon usually reflected the soul of the wielder. The soldiers spoke of the weapons of demons to fill the quiet air. The silence around them was deafening. Then, from out of nowhere...

"Yeee-haaaaw!" a small brown figure ran through the nearby field, headed straight for the camp. (A/N: Fury all the way. I can imagine her doing this...) A crystal-blue LightSword glittered in her hand as the fennec fox- demon tore through the tall grass. (A/N: In reality, she'd be singing a theme song she'd just made up while she ran.) "Fury, not yet!" the young red fox-demon yelled, and the fennec stopped without wavering, then spun around with a dumb, confused look on her face. "Why not yet, LeFox?" she whined, cocking her head to one side with her hands on her hips. LeFox walked up to her calmly. "We. Are supposed. To wait. For. Backup!" she yelled the last word in FoxFury's face, gaining a whimper and a scared smile from the younger demoness. Fury drew herself back up proudly, giving her teammate a dramatic flourish. "We don't need backup! We're LeFox and FoxFury, two teenage fox-demons who..." she paused, looking at the size of the enemy's nearing army. "...Uh, LeFox, we need backup." she said, and LeFox sighed. "...Too late to wait now," she said, drawing her sword from the sheathe. An evil smile appeared on her lips as she observed the enemy. FoxFury nodded, smiling almost like she was getting ready for a birthday party. The sword in her hand glowed brighter. "I doubt your BloodRose can stand up to my IceLight," she said, her grip tightening on the golden hilt. The rose engraved on the blade of LeFox's sword grew thorns. "I believe we already have a bet, Fury. And I hope you plan on losing." LeFox said haughtily, taking off at breakneck speed toward the humans. "Hu-what!?" Fury yelled, realizing that LeFox was getting the unfair advantage of an early start. She took off after her.

"Is this the army we feared? Is this the army of the great King Vulpes and his daughter? Two children?" the leader of the humans laughed. FoxFury smiled brightly and nodded. "Yep, we're the army! We're here to tell you that you can kiss our asses! Oh, and we're also here to fight you. That, too." she said happily. LeFox stepped up. "We came to show you what the rest of the army has in store for you! Lots of pain and death! Oh, don't worry, the fun'll last for a while. We're gonna kill you nice and slow so you can enjoy it!" she smiled. The entire army laughed. "Such spunk! When we take you captive, be sure to tell us jokes until your death at sunrise," a soldier near the front of the formation chuckled coldly. Fury bowed. "It fools everyone," she said cheerfully, leaping up and sending her sword through the man's chest. (A/N: More genuine FoxFury...) Surprised by the litheness of her movement, the army went into a stunned silence, before the leader yelled, "Attack them! Kill them! Kill the demons!"

LeFox dodged one attack with such speed that the attacker spun around just in time to find LeFox's sword just level with his neck. He stopped moving just a moment too late. LeFox smiled. Fury had first blood; she had first decapitation. She rushed back into the heart of the battle, just as her sword rushed into the heart of another foolish soldier who dared to attempt attacking her. One did manage to nick her shoulder with his sword before she sliced his chest open and danced away. She scowled at the cut. It was the first wound she had ever received since she learned from her own experience in the forests. The BloodRose glinted angrily off of the dull sunlight in the autumn sky as she became a blur of movement and blood on the battlefield. Nothing could stop her now; nothing could keep her from winning. This little injury couldn't slow her down. Nothing could. (A/N: Definitely me in all my glory... okay, I'll try to get out of the story now.)

On the other side of the battlefield, FoxFury's IceLight dominated the frail armor of the human army. She moved like a dancer, a dancer in a deadly ballet. She had a smile on her face like a dancer enjoying her own performance might, slashing and dodging flawlessly. She was oblivious to the cuts she gained during the dangerous waltz; nothing mattered as long as she kept moving. Her skill and talent was that which she had learned from the teachers in the desert lands. The IceLight glowed brighter and brighter, even as it was coated with blood. She laughed as she removed the heads of three soldiers in one slice. She whirled quickly, taking a fourth by surprise. It surprised her, as well; she hadn't seen him. "I guess that was a lucky slice," she laughed, doing a perfect backflip into the air and slicing a man neatly in half. She cocked her head again, studying him. (A/N: ...sorry. Anyway, this next bit is SO like FoxFury and I. This is what we're like. Seriously.)

LeFox backed up against her, and Fury looked up. They were surrounded. "Great. Look at the mess you've gotten us into this time," LeFox said, rolling her eyes. FoxFury snorted with laughter. "Why don't you just let me take over this battle?" she asked, nudging her. "Ha! No way in hell," LeFox shot back. "What, are you afraid I'm gonna blow up the planet or something?" Fury asked. "What, you mean like last time?" LeFox said sarcastically. "...That's not the point. The point is, you're clearly overreacting," Fury said indignantly, as LeFox sprung away, slashing the throats of four nearby soldiers. She barely missed catching herself on their blades, and she found herself thanking the Gods for giving her grace and agility. FoxFury threw her sword at an angle that made it act like a boomerang, cutting two soldiers in half, removing the head of one, and fatally wounding three. It skimmed the air, hurtling back to her for a perfect catch. "That only leaves..." she called to LeFox, who was withdrawing her sword slowly from a fallen man. He was still alive, bleeding heavily. Fury shuddered a little. When LeFox said she'd make someone suffer, she meant she would make someone suffer. LeFox looked up at her. "...the leader." she called back, pulling the sword out.

The leader had attempted to retreat, but had tripped over one of the fallen soldiers. Now, he was watching the final moments of the battle with wide, terrified eyes. Who were these children? They had all the strength and skill of the adult demons; perhaps even more. They had training... no, they had experience. The IceLight in the youngest's hands was too strong, too bright, to belong to a mere beginner. This wasn't their first battle. Young girls their age... they weren't queasy around blood; they weren't afraid of death. The BloodRose, an enchanted rose in reality, lacked the weak flimsiness of a recently enchanted plant. Its stability hinted at at least five years of use. And the rose could only be used by the enchanter... These girls were experienced fighters. They were warriors. He closed his eyes. He had underestimated them. Whoever, whatever, they were, they were unbelievable. He reopened his eyes. He had to get away. He had to warn the other waiting armies... they weren't facing anything they had ever seen before. They were facing the strongest little girls they would ever face.

"...Where are you going off to in such a hurry?" LeFox's voice reached his ears. He looked up sharply. She imitated FoxFury's head-cock as Fury walked over in a parody of LeFox's slow, unnerving prowl. "Who are you?" the leader asked boldly. Fury smiled. "LeFox and FoxFury, fox-demons at your service!" she bowed dramatically. The leader trembled. "What... what are you?" he asked. His voice was weak now. LeFox sighed. "Didn't you just listen to a word she said? Very well... we are fox-demons. How do we describe ourselves? We're, to put it lightly, narcissistic, masochistic, sadistic, and I just happen to be pessimistic, and she's optimistic. I'm being very realistic in my description, just so you know." she said. "Lotta 'istic's, huh?" Fury muttered. LeFox closed her eyes, opening one and glaring at Fury teasingly. "...Not to mention sarcastic." she added. "Hey, that's not an 'istic'!" Fury noted. "I know," LeFox replied. The leader only stared at them. How could they be so much like a normal couple of friends, and yet be cold-hearted killers at the same time?

"So... are you ready to die?" FoxFury asked him conversationally, almost as if she had asked a house guest if they would like something to drink. He didn't respond. Fury was easily the cruelest of the two... she played at being friends with her foes. LeFox, at least, was straightforward with her desire to kill. She stood by, her appearance that of an immaculate child, but the heart of a warrior raging underneath. Fury... she was direct. She looked like a fun-loving girl, and she loved to have fun. She fought only when she was having fun... fighting was fun to her. "Answer the simple question so we can get on with our lives." LeFox said, wiping the BloodRose between two fingers, the blood running over her fingers and onto the ground. He watched it. "...Time's up! Too bad!" Fury laughed, as she beheaded the leader.

LeFox's face was blankly amused as she plunged the leader's sword into the ground. FoxFury stared at her as she put the leader's head on top of it, the dead eyes staring out over the battlefield. "...So, that's that." she said, looking at the sunset. She smiled and started laughing. "Don't even say it, Fury..." LeFox said, starting to smile. Fury walked over and shoved her playfully. "Ha! I told you we didn't need backup!" she laughed, and LeFox huffed snobbishly. "Well, with my brilliance, we didn't need the backup at all," she said, brushing back her hair. Fury pulled her arm up to show her biceps. "Oh, yeah? What about my brawn?" she asked. LeFox laughed, squeezing Fury's bicep. "...What brawn?" she asked innocently. Just then, the demon army arrived.

"...You're a little late, Captain." LeFox noted, but he didn't seem to notice. "LeFox, FoxFury... where is the enemy?" the captain, a golden- haired cat-demon, asked as he looked around. His eyes returned to them. "Well? It was your duty to watch them, was it not? Where is the enemy?" he asked. LeFox and Fury smirked, pointing upward at the human leader's head. He stared at them in awe. "You... you didn't do this?" he asked. "We did, actually." Fury said, looking at LeFox out of the corner of her eye. They exchanged a nod and stood. "I bet I killed more of them than you did," she said, walking off. LeFox followed her easily. "Like I said before, I know I doubled your count." she retorted. There was a moment of silence, before Fury spoke.

"So, when we get back to town, wanna see if we can talk Zephyr into giving us something special?" she asked. LeFox smiled. "Yeah! I'm not hungry, but there's that weapons shop next to the bar..." she trailed off, looking at the black leather gloves she wore. They were past their prime. "My sword needs sharpening. That's a good idea. But I wanna eat first!" Fury agreed. The demon captain watched them go, then realized something. "Girls, what about the prisoners!?" he yelled. They kept walking. They didn't hear him. He shook his head. Didn't those two ever follow simple procedure...? He smiled as he answered his own question.

They were LeFox and FoxFury. Of course they didn't.

Author's Note: Ha! Hey, Diablo Moon (I know you're reading this), did I get your personality right, or what? I mean, other than the fact that you were a little queasy when I was killin' that guy... In reality, you would have been shouting "Oh, hey, cooooool!!!" and finding a near-dead guy to try it out on or something. Anyway, to my other readers... so, how is it? I know it's a little strange, but get over that and enjoy the story! -^.~- I like it. Kinda. I'll get back to work on Light of the Stars now... and the next chapter of this, when Zephyr makes his debut!
LeFox=Azrael's Servant
FoxFury=Diablo Moon
Human Leader=Tobias Marquitz (not an author, but a great big chicken.)
