Papercut

Cry not tribut’ry tears

For they will only bring you woe.

Tears are a necessary thing

But only Time can fully soften the blow.

Love is pain but pain is not love;

Distance is hindrance and tends Death to hearts.

Strikes can be lain; wounds can be shot

Like those of Artemis’ own darts.

Throes of passion preclude anxiety, paranoia

And both draw blood in drop and gout,

Yet take your love to hold and never let them go,

Never insurrect them and never live in doubt.

Pain and tears will follow in life,

Lessons taught so you may not meet squalor in your earthbound rut,

So take these words and preserve your eternal compassion

For Love: Life’s Greatest Papercut.
