Lilac Jacket

A soft breeze billows not her warm coat,
Yet hangs as crushed velvet, soft and serene,
Untouchable hands cupping lightly aloft
A great gem gleaming bright without glint.
But to mine eyes in awe I did perceive
Its 'ternal light, red-pink and bright
Shining against Nut's shawl of lilac,
Guiding, inspiring, transcending beauty and love,
Life and Death, and Time itself,
Burnishing furiously with heart yet calm--
Still alike to my surging organ--
At peace and shifting as Rebel Time marches on
Through a neon orange, pure sanguine, and
Finally pressed to her breast an independent pink;
Clutched in her gentle, transparent fingertips
And resting at the lip of her pocket
Before she slowly and reluctantly let it fall through.
The shine of it still kissed her coat through
The wispy, misty fabric, and breath came
To Falter as chill came late, a warm
Lingering still from the Light's embrace
Beyond the Lilac Jacket.
