Waiting For You

We were never sure why you left us
Never asked what pushed you to depart
Tough we were aware, all the while
The reasons you needed to replenish your soul

Abrupt and sudden, you embarked on your journey
Abandoning us with nil save a troubled farewell
Promising your readers a more prosperous return
In words formed by your ordained poet's hand

Upon your renewal, colors will grace our charcoal sunrises
Meadow sprites will dance amid fields in full bloom
We'll spring from our chores at the sound of your knock
And sprint to the door to welcome you back to our cyber home

But alas those merry time have not befallen yet
Offering you best wishes is the most we can do
Know, however, our presence always travels beside you
Awaiting the morn your inner heart's journey is fulfilled
And you return to our beloved pressroom
With a smile glinting in your eyes
To relinquish our poetic souls
