Yume and the Fantasy Floor ~*~*~*~ By: LinkGirl

Note: You might notice that the format of this story is that each sentence starts with a different letter, it goes from A to Z.  Enjoy.

----------------------------------------

Almost everyday, around school time, it will get real quiet in the house.  Being so quiet, I like to explore without worries, unlike on the noisy days of a weekend.  Crowded and loud, troublesome, it’s always so troublesome, everyone shouting, running, not paying attention in general, and me being so small...well you get the point.

Drowning.  Easily getting lost in it all.

Flying brings such a joy though, it makes me forget everything around me, and I like to fly to the top floor where not many people like to visit—except the quite ones.

Glorious flowers, wonderful music.  Here I can lie in the sweet green grass of the many rooms, where beautiful music echoes through the halls, and magical fairies and sprites dance; where I can be free from all ties to anyone else, and where magic has it’s own new meaning—But then, there are the strange and abnormal places, which don’t contain the same greens and liveliness of former rooms, they’re deep and (many a time) dark, unknown to us, places where many people dare not explore in the fear of finding himself (herself) lost in the maze of time and space; a place where only the “creator” knows—and sometimes...not even then.

I have dared, on few occasions, to explore these mysterious dudgeons.  Just as I have today, a school day, when all is quiet, and one can become curious for adventure.  Knowing that I might get lost, I lifted my stiff wings.  Lifting off the ground and soaring through the air, I remember it all clearly right now; I was being a fool of a dragon.

Many rooms passed me by; many were closed, shut, maybe even locked.  None seemed to catch my eye, until I came to a dead end, and at the end an open archway, where it looked safe inside.  Open and welcoming, at least that what it seemed—I was stupid to enter what appealed to me.

Perfect, now I’m starting to rhyme, this is what starts to happen to me when I’m stuck in a misty room for hours.

Quick and fast, I see something pass—Okay; I really need to stop this annoying rhyming.  Right now I have to concentrate on trying to get out of here, “Hello?” I call, oh please don’t tell me I’m seeing things now, but I thought I saw something zoom past.

Starting to feel stupid, I stare into the mist; eyes squinted, in hopes of seeing something.  There, there it was again, something in the mists!

Unable to take it anymore, I flew out to see what this unidentifiable thing was.  I couldn’t believe my eyes!  Very happily, I soared down to a fellow friend, the small creature (who is actually bigger them me), Notty.

“What are you doing here!?” I exclaimed looking up at Notty.

“Xeno-Xenolo- Notty can’t pronounce the word!  Notty made up her own word and now she can’t pronounce it!”

“You are very strange Notty,” though I had to smile, “You know how to get out of here?”

“Zippidy do da zippidy day, course Notty does, but Yume...do you know what song that’s from, it keeps bothering me,” and I just had to laugh!
