: Epilogue :
“ Mary get you butt down here before they’re going to be late!” Jessica called from the bottom of the staircase as she held on to her four year old daughters hand, named Jasmine.
“ We’re coming.” Mary said as she started down the stairs with her five year old son named Alex. Mary and Jessica were taking the kids to a birthday party too one of their friends from the day-care they went to when Mary and Jessica were at work.
Jessica was fed up at working at the restaurant and listening to someone else’s orders, so she saved up enough money with the help of her husband, Josh, she opened her own restaurant called Jas after her little girl. Jessica owned the place while Mary helped manage it, they worked as a team.
“ All right, let’s get going.” Jessica said as she opened the front door. They strapped the kids into Mary’s much needed mini-van and drove off.
Jason was at work, the same dealership but through out the years he became the head manager. When Josh told the men from Miami that he couldn’t take their deal, they were upset but understood. They still wanted Josh to work for them so instead of having him run the Miami club they decided to open one in Las Vegas as well after thinking about it for some time, he took that job and has been happy since.
That day Josh decided he couldn’t leave Jessica, they had been together ever since. A month after them living together, he asked Jessica to marry him, she said yes before he finished his last word. Two months to the date of their wedding anniversary Jessica was pregnant with Jasmine. She was nervous and scared the whole pregnancy because of what happened last time. Mary worked at the restaurant and took care of everything even though she had a new born baby so Jessica could take it easy so nothing would happen to the baby.
Jessica and Chris became really good friends and stayed in contact, the last time they talked over the phone, Chris told her he was engaged to the woman he had been seeing for the last year. Jessica was happy for him as he was happy for her for finally getting what she wanted, Josh and to be happy.
Jessica pulled up the little boy’s house where the party was being held. Mary and Jessica walked their child inside and said their goodbyes then headed back to Mary’s. They didn’t have to be at the restaurant till later on, the manger they had hired, an old friend they hadn’t seen since high school was talking caring of the place for now.
“ I am so tired.” Jessica whined as she sat down on the sofa while Mary closed the front door.
“ Join the club.” Mary said as she slumped next to Jessica, she turned her head and looked at Jessica’s face. “ You have been looking very tired lately, is something going on?” She asked.
“ No lot really.” Jessica said. “ Well actually…” She started as she sat up straight on the sofa and faced Mary .
“ Actually what?” Mary asked as she grew impatient.
“ I haven’t told Josh yet, I just found out so keep quite till I tell him.” Jessica briefly explained. She took a deep breath. “ I’m pregnant.” She said, it was a left off her shoulders to finally tell someone. Jessica took a home pregnancy test and it came out positive but she went to the hospital two days ago to make sure but since she was more confident with this pregnancy that nothing would happen, she was busy at work and so was Josh, she hadn’t found a good time to tell him yet, she explained to Mary .
“ Well he’s meeting you here later and that’s still time before you’re going to pick up Jasmine, you tell him when he gets here.” Mary suggested with a huge grin.
“ You just want to be around when I tell him.”
“ Yes, very true. You told him about Jasmine alone, tell him about this baby now so I can be here and see the joy.” Mary said.
“ Yeah the joy, you’re just nosey.” Jessica pointed out. “ But I do need to tell him so I guess you’ll get your wish.”
“ I’m glad you saw it my way.” Mary said as she stood from her seat on the sofa. “ I’m going to call Jason and see what time he’ll be home. I’ll be back.” She explained before she walked away to the back room she turned into a office, a place to keep her and Jason’s business away from Alex.
Jessica just nodded to Mary, once she was gone, Jessica rested her head back on the sofa.
Jessica was finally truly happy with her life. She worked the way she wanted to with her best friend. She had the family she wanted with the man she wanted. She placed her hand on her belly, another baby, Jessica was happy for another baby, the timing was good. She wondered a girl or boy this time, as names started flooding her mind, there was a knock on the door.
Jessica stood from the sofa and adjusted the long black shirt she had on. “ You’re here early.” She pointed out as Josh stood in front of her.
“ I ditched work.” Josh simply said.
“ Why would you do that?” Jessica asked as she held open the front door.
“ For this, why else?” Josh asked before she grabbed her by the waist and pulled her into a kiss. As they kissed, Jessica pushed the front door closed. Josh finally let her lips go but kept his arms around her waist.
“ There’s something I have to tell you.” Jessica said as she fumbled with the third button to his white dress shirt.
“ Well you’re looking for the right words so I know it’s important.” Josh pointed out as he continued to hold on to her.
Jessica looked up into his green eyes. “ How do you know I’m thinking of the right words?” She asked.
“ Because you were looking down and keeping your hands busy.” He explained.
“ Oh.” Jessica said as she looked back down. He really did know here inside and out. A couple of more seconds passed before Jessica looked back up into his eyes. “ I’m pregnant.” She said as Josh’s eyes got wider.
Jessica wanted him to say something so bad but he didn’t say anything instead he kissed her again. Jessica bought her hand to the side of his face, his hand trailed up and down her back. As his hand went under her top, Mary was back.
“ Oh get a room.” Mary said as she walked toward the sofa.
“ Sorry.” Jessica said as she tried not to laugh. She turned her attention back to Josh. “ I guess finding out about another baby is a good thing?” She asked.
“ Great thing.” Josh said as he kissed her lightly on the lips. He was fighting everything inside him to just forget about Mary and take Jessica right were they stood.
Mary overheard their words. “ You told him already?!” She asked as she placed her hands over her hips. “ I wanted to be here, you waited two days you could have waited two more minutes but fine.” She said, brushing her hand in the air as she sat down on the sofa.
Jessica and Josh couldn’t help it that time, they had to laugh at Mary . Once they stopped, Mary looked pissed as always. “ Sorry again.” Jessica said.
“ We’re gonna go.” Josh said to Mary as he grabbed Jessica’s hand.
“ Why?” Mary asked she didn’t want to stay all alone.
“ Because we really need to go.” Josh said as he pulled Jessica to the front door. “ Bye.” He quickly said to Mary as they left.
“ Can I ask why we’re rushing to leave?” Jessica asked as Josh still hand on to her hand as they walked to his car.
Josh pinned her to the car door, his lips hovered over hers. “ We’ve been too busy lately. We need to take advantage of the time we have now.” He quickly explained before he kissed her hard on the lips.
“ I agree with that, let’s go.” Jessica said.
They drove straight home, there was still a couple of hours before they had to pick Jasmine up. It didn’t take them long to park the car and head to the bedroom. Along the way of the three bedroom house they bought once they found out Jasmine was on the way, clothes started hitting the ground.
They undressed each other, feeling every inch of skin along the way. Their months tangled with each others as Josh leaned over her.
“ I love you.” Josh whispered into her ear.
“ I love you too.”
