Ode to Dictionary

Oh how I love you!

My little worn out copy

of wonderful words of wisdom,

known as the lovely dictionary.

To say how I feel,

by such words like:

abysmally!

Perturbed!

And other

impossible-to-spell words

that escape the uneducated and

na•ve minds of

children.

Your fine, papery leaves

with your miniscule ebony print

etches classification

of the English lexis

into my ripening psyche.

Accolade to you!

My knowledgeable comrade

who fails not to

lend me

a morsel of

your impeccable

aptitude
