Typical Dream

A night of trance music in a club

I meet my soulmate

A dance of passion on the floor

between silk sheets

The scene changes to ancient times

A hand raises to brush away

my raven hair lavishly decorated

with gold beading

and like Isis and Osiris

we live one night as one

A sigh in the night

takes us to old Japan

where a gentle caress

and the slipping of a

kimono sleeve

falls into romance

Again a change

where decorum rules

as we break out into a waltz

our feet never touch the floor

The marble melts to stone

as torchlight illuminates

the spears and armor on the walls

I lie amongst fur

as my knight

unsheathes his sword

Underneath the moonlight

a guitarist plays

Rose placed between my lips,

hat brim hiding his eyes

We lunge and parry

Foil against sabre

Our bodies collapse from

exhaustion

and whisper our love

into the fleeting night

I wake up on my bed

as the alarm goes off

I get dressed and go to school

It was just a typical dream
