There were old places
Where no one thought to give up
We lived together.

Where are you going
when you leave us all down here?
Are there better things?

Birds fly over the
rainbow, are you going to
fly away with them?

What is the appeal
of a red and jagged gash
across your thin wrist?

I never knew what
Made you open up the blood
Until I tried it.

I forgot the pain
Blocked it out with angry sound
It doesn't hurt now.

And I told you why
But you didn't believe me
No one ever does.

You told me to stop
But it made things better for
you, for a while.

Do you believe that
it was her fault? I still don't.
But someday we will.

--------------------------

Ev'ry man would fly
If he opened his wings to
Ghostly selfless skies.

Ev'ry love would hold
If we all learned to live for
a new tomorrow.
