Something foreign, something feared,

You shyly wonder what you'll find.

Something creaking on the stairs,
creaking creaking,
creaking seeking,
Seeking you, the darkness coming,
Seeking you, pulsating, drumming,
Always watching,
Always waiting,
Never dying or abating,
Always waiting, always there,
With its penetrating stare.

Something lurking in the shadows,
You'll never find out what it is,
It wont let you,
Because then the fear it causes,
Would be gone.
