“Apology Unaccepted”

By Dark Pegasus

When everyone’s turned their back on you

And you have no one else to turn to

I just want you to know

That if you come to me, I won’t let you go

We’ve both been through a lot of it

We’ve both dealt with all kinds of shit

You’ve had your own mountain to climb

But its height can’t compare to mine

If I were to say

That I’m sorry

Would you forgive me?

If we forgot our bad days

Cast away our worries

Would you forgive me?

I’m not trying to force you to see

But will you forgive but not forget me?

I woke up long ago with a smile on my face

But seeing you so mad made it fade away

How about we forget all of yesteryear

If you accept my apology, though it may seem weird

Walking down the hallway, I can see your troubled mind

If it would help you feel better, I have a way you could unwind

All I’m trying to do is give you proper warning

But all you seem to do is turn your head and ignore me

All I tried to do was say that I apologize

So I hope you can see through all of the lies

Your friends have fed you since day one

I guess this is a game I haven’t won

I don’t want this aching feeling inside my chest

It’s about time these empty feelings be laid to rest

I have a feeling that you’re waiting for those words so clearly

I just hope that win I say them, you can still hear me
