Stand, If Even Alone

A dream that shattered

And became unglued

The will remains

un-subdued

It doesn't matter

What's left here

I won't succumb

To my fear

Even if barren

The landscape remained

My fighting spirit

Would not be tamed

I can't quit

It's not in my power

I'll remain standing

Until the last hour

Even if hope left

And fled to abyss

My will to conquer

Would not be remiss

Onto the end

A statue of stone

In a dying world

Defiant alone

I will not budge

I'll face my fate

Because in war

It's never too late

To stand my ground

For what is dear

And battle against

That which I fear

I must always stand

If even alone

Because even if dead

It's still my home
