Friendship

I want a hand to hold when I have to face the darkness.
I want a smile to brighten up my gray days.
I want a laugh to lighten my heart, though it is broken.
I want a friend to be there when the sun doesn't shine its rays.

Watching over me when I need supervision,
Protecting me when I've been kicked to the ground,
I know I can depend on you to always be there,
And I'm just thankful that friendship is what we've found.

We can survive the thick and the thin,
We can believe in the power of divinity,
And if you ever have any doubts of this life,
Depend and believe in me.

I wrote this poem for a friend of mine who was going through a rough time.
