Classmates: part one

a.n. this is a series of slam poetry written about some of my classmates…if you are in my class, see if you can guess who each piece is about!  I will be uploading each piece as a chapter, so if you like these at all, be sure to keep checking to see if a new chapter has been posted!

The boy who talked too much

Valentines Day

And the boy who talked too much

Tried chatting up the girls

Telling them about his day

His life and never Valentines

His frail frame got shoved around

All turned away from his metal frames eyes

And blemishes

His size 13 shoes made too much noise

Dragged along the hall

The senior boys taunted him

“Make that shot, loser!”

Valentines Day, and the boy who talked too much ignored the jeers

With an ignorant, naïve resolve he didn’t hear them

Valentines Day and the boy who talked too much didn’t get a rose or card

Valentines Day and now the boy who talked too much doesn’t say much at all.
