*Celestial Melody*

.
Barefoot you run,
Run through grass
Dark and cool
That swirls 'round your ankles.

Phoebe's latern bathes the world
And with blue white beams
Creates her own lunar landscape
Wrapped in alien beauty.

The soles of your feet
Kiss the pools of shadow:
They lay in the grass
The grass on the hill
The hill in a bed of stars
Singing softly their celestial melody.

You lie on the hill
Covered in Night's many colored cloak.
Orion, the hunter, ever questing
He searches while the Ursas
Great and small
Run out to the fore.

The thousand suns
Of a thousand other worlds
Have watched our race,

Growing,
Changing,
Learning

All in an eye blink:
The eye blink of our ever expanding universe.

They know all our stories,
Those watchers above
And we, still children,
Watch them in turn.
We ponder our place,
Our right.
The end to our tale.

We watch them and sleep,
Our dreams a silent promise.
While the young Earth turns in place
The lights of the night sky:
Phoebe
Orien
Ursa great and small
Serenade us with the stars' ancient lulluby.
