Drown me in my sorrow,
Kill me through my pain.
Lead me into darkness,
Make me free again.
My soul is already crumbling,
Bound to you by fate.
Your words with cutting edges
My mind does not abate.
I wake into the twilight
And see you eye to eye.
The evening rain does finally
Wrap me in black disguise.
The chains begin to melt now
My heart turns stone cold.
Your words dripping, pleading -
I take as lies so bold.
You ask me very quietly,
Why can't I see the truth,
As I sink into an abyss of rose,
That I was always loved by you...
But those words are to late coming.
My deed hath now been done.
You will never here my voice say,
That you were always, too, the one.
They tell of me in darkness,
A tale wrought in night.
Of how I did myself in,
But they never get it right.
For love is like the reddest rose,
It shall wither and die -
When things like this do happen
And it's smothered by disguise.
In my case peril was the way out
Which I met all alone.
And the truth of how I met that end
No one shall ever know.
But I leave you with this whisper,
This little tale of truth.
If some has kidnapped your heart,
Let them know they are loved by you.
For you never really know,
When you meet them on the street.
If they feel all alone,
If they feel just like me.
A kind word from a neighbor,
A greeting from a friend,
Sweet nothings from a lover -
May one day stop just such an end.
So take my words to heart, please.
And try not to cause pain.
Do your best to love them,
Don't let it happen again.
For some are always crying
And some will never cry.
But in the end, the truth is
All will always die.
So live each day to the fullest,
And comfort those in sorrow.
For they may comfort you one day -
When there may be no tomorrow.
