~*~*~*~ Love me for tonight: Final chapter ~*~*~*~

Matt kneeled as his father’s grave. It was a year ago today that he was killed in that hotel room. A year ago Matt’s life changed more then he’d ever expected it to. He missed his father, Matt hoped he was finally in peace where ever he was.

There was some guilt, Matt wondered what would’ve happened if he had gotten there sooner. But slowly he’s moved past it. There was a lot to look forward to. It was odd, with his father gone, it brought everyone else closer.

“ I knew you’d be here. Are you all right?” Matt felt her hand on his shoulder. He nodded in answer to her question. They stayed there for a couple of more minutes before Matt stood and faced her.

“ You were looking for me?” Matt asked as he placed his hand along her cheek.

“ Just worried.” Melissa answered. “ Your mom is holding a dinner gathering as a memorial for your father. Everyone is going to be there so have to go as well.” she explained.

“ I don’t mind. They’re not as bad to be around now. It’s better. Jake’s running the business and the right way. Mom is still hurting pretty bad but she puts up a good front. These dinner parties help. Did you pick up Anny?” Matt asked, staring deep into her eyes with his hand still along her face.

“ Yeah. She’s excited to be away from home and getting a break from school. I dropped her off at the house. Emily isn’t too happy she visiting but she’s my sister, so Emily can’t really do anything outrageous.” Melissa explained as they began to walk away from the cemetery, their arms linked together.

“ Have I told you how cute you guys look together?” Nathalie said with her British accent, arms crossed as she leaned against the outside of her Jeep.

“ Just every time you see us mom.” Melissa said as she and Matt stopped walking.

“ To what do I owe this surprise?” Matt asked Nathalie, it had been a week since the last time they saw each other at Melissa’s place for dinner.

“ Melissa’s car broke down. I’m playing driver.” Nathalie answered. Her tone became saddened as she asked. “ How are you feeling dear?”

Matt gave her a weak smile. “ I’m fine. Will you be joining us for dinner?”

“ Well--”

“ If I have to go, so do you.” Melissa supplied.

“ Well I guess I have no choice.” Nathalie said, throwing her hands in the air for dramatic affect. “ Now that you have your night and shining armor, I’m not needed. I’ll swing by your place later.” she explained then said good bye, leaving Matt and Melissa alone.

“ I’m glad you guys became close.” Matt expressed as they watched the Jeep drive off.

“ Me too.” Melissa said as she turned away from the rode and looked at Matt’s face. “ Are you sure you’re ok?”

“ I’m sure. And if I wasn’t, what would you do to make me feel better?” Matt asked with a grin.

“ I would come up with something.” Melissa said. She stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his neck. Kissing him tenderly and passionately. “ How’s that?” she whispered in his ear.

Matt had his arms wrapped around her waist. “ Well--” Melissa bit his earlobe when he hesitated to answer. “ Ok, I think it’s time we get out of here and to my place. Because your place is always filled with people.” Matt grabbed her hand and they headed off to his car.

Melissa laughed as she followed him. “ You know I was thinking, instead of my place and your place, why don’t we have our place?” she asked, growing a little serious.

Matt stopped and faced her. “ You want to?”

“ I want you. And all the time so I think it would be better if we lived under the same roof.” Melissa explained, intertwining her fingers with his. She just loved to touch him, she just loved him period.

“ I agree. But I don’t want to just live with you, I want it to be more.” Matt softly said, his eyes never leaving hers.

“ Matthew Thomas are you asking me to marry you?” Melissa asked. She was so happy, she wondered if it was all a dream.

“ I am. So what do you say?”

Melissa laughed. “ You’re so romantic.” she sarcastically said. “ Did this thought just hit you?” she asked.

“ The thought to marry you? No. I’ve been thinking about that since I first laid eyes on you.” Matt explained, he was serious but she didn’t seem to think so.

“ Really?”

“ Really and here’s my proof.” Matt got down on one knee, pulling a little black box from his pocket. Melissa’s eyes grew wider, he was dead serious and now she was convinced. “ Melissa Morgan, will you please grant my wish that I’ve had for too many years to count and be my wife?” he asked with a smile that would light up a room.

Melissa realized she had to reminded her self to breathe. She looked at the beautiful ring then at Matt, then back at the ring, then settled on Matt’s clear blue eyes.

“ Lissa, is would be great if you said something.” Matt pointed out.

“ Huh?” Melissa snapped out of her daze. “ Oh sorry. Yes! Yes I’ll marry you.” she said, Matt placed the ring on her finger and stood from the ground.

“ I almost thought you would say no. Then I would’ve died of pain and haunted you for the rest of your life.” Matt explained.

“ That’s what every girl wants to hear. Again Matt, every romantic.”

“ I know.” Matt said before he kissed her, pinning her against the tree that was right behind her. “ We really need to get going before I take you right here in the grass.” he explained once he pulled away from her.

“ You know, I knew this girl that had sex in a tree.” Melissa said as they started their walk to the car again.

“ Really? You wanna try that?”

“ No. I op for a bed, thank you.” Melissa said.

“ You weren’t saying that last night when I had you on top of the kitchen table.” Matt reminded her.

Melissa actually blushed. “ Shut up.” she slapped him in the arm.

“ You weren’t saying or doing that last night either.” Matt pointed out with a laugh.

“ Matt--”

“ Ok I’ll stop.” Matt said as they finally reached the car. “ Let’s get going. This dinner with be more then a memorial. We have to tell the whole family we’re getting married. They‘re going to be so excited and my mom will try and control every part of the planning.” he said as they got into the car.

“ I know, and I can’t wait.”
