Man's Design

Once the night has been destroyed,

And light returns to life once more,

Every soul is overjoyed,

Minds cease to think of war.

Life goes on as it always had,

Before the vengeful darkness came,

And men are willing, much too glad,

To forget sorrow’s name.

Though times of blood may seem a-fading,

As the years pass by, benign,

In truth, they only lie in waiting,

Ever part of man’s design.
