A Legend

I don't know where I went when I disappeared but it was a dark cold place and there was only silence, even when I called out in my misery. I guess I slept the whole time and my screaming was just a dream. When I awoke some 2,000 years later I found myself in some sort of tomb. There were skeletons all around me and I had no idea what year it was.

I soon found my way out of this horrid place and found myself walking on the streets of some city. I could smell humans everywhere and knew I was not in my city of Ma'atla. I would soon find out that my city had vanished from the face of earth and no records were ever found of it. I was truly alone in this strange time when humans dressed scantly and talked in a new tongue I understood without knowing how. Maybe it was the vampire in me that made me understand.

While I walked in the streets of this huge city-I would soon find out it was called New York-people looked at me strangely. No doubt it was because of the way I was dressed. I wore exactly what I wore the day I disappeared, a scarlet robe with jewels and gold on it and jewelry and a headdress people only saw in museums of ancient Egyptian society.

I stopped suddenly when I felt the presence of another vampire. I turned around but found no one but humans there. They had vanished. Vanishing is a simple trick for vampires and very useful when you do not want to be seen or captured. Since this cowardly vampire decided not to show itself to me I continued on my way and walked into a building called a "dance club".

I felt an immense surge of vampiric power in this place and recognized many of the people as my kind from the aura of immortality they gave off. This was a vampire haven it seemed because more than 80% were not human. They all watched me as I made my way to the "bar" as they call it. I looked at the man behind it.

"Well, well, well. What can I do for you on this fine night?" the man asked boldly.

"You can give me blood for I crave it." I answered.

"So do we all youngling, but we don't sell it here."

I glared at him. "Youngling? I am no youngling! Do I look like I belong in this time?"

"No, miss, no you look like you can from the ancient Egyptian times."

"Precisely." I sniffed the air and smelled a familiar fragrance that made me want to vomit. It was the smell of my long lost enemy.

"Aries," I whispered.

"Yes, my sweet lady of old. It is I your enemy." Came his voice from behind me.

I slowly turned and looked at him. He still had his beautiful golden blonde hair and tanned skin. The only thing that was different about him was his clothing and lack of weapons. He looked me up and down and gave a smirk.

"What happened to you? You look like you never left your beloved city." He asked.

"I vanished to some unknown place and all time was lost for me. You got your wish. My city is gone and I am alone and miserable."

"I never wished for you to be miserable." He said and came closer so that we were only a foot away from each other. "I only wanted you to help others and not be so selfish."

"Selfish? You know nothing of me! I didn't help other cities because I didn't want my people to be butchered like all those others. Don't you see?

"Yes, I se now, but I still think you are stubborn. I think you should come with me."

"Why is that?"

"Because I know full well that even though you love attention, you don't want to be stared at because of what you are wearing. I am going to take you to get some new clothes.

So we went out to various stores and he graciously bought me some clothing which I needed. I swear he enjoyed it. What had happened to my enemy of long ago who cared nothing of others? He had grown into a sweet man of honesty and loyalty, or so I thought. When we were done I had plenty of clothes to wear for all kinds of occasions. He even bought me a dress I admired and a diamond necklace he said would go good with it.

I AM NOT DONE WITH THIS CHAPTER! COME BACK SOON TO SEE IF I HAVE UPDATE!
