Pity... A Cry of Pain

A cry of pain,
In the darkened halls.
With the beating of rain on the windowsills,
And the wild calls of the night.
Only life can determine death.
Only fate can determine destiny.
A cry of pain,
Through the tears of your love,
Only means he is suffering.
Like the earth when they pluck the trees from her.
Like the animals being hunted.
Like the pain of one's own death.
When will this cease?
He asked his God many times.
When will you pity me!
He cries into the night.
His breath comes out in gasps,
As his lungs close on all life.
He starts to sweat,
And remembers all of his strife.
Finally! Was his last thought?
Until his God forgave him,
And let him go.
