Heroes on Every Corner

So stale is this flavor I find

So pail in its color of mind

But the TV says it's my favorite flavor

And the billboards cry out praises and favor

Am I missing the secret ingredient here?

Or is there a reason we're living in fear...

You can't leave the Spirit behind.

Why does this poor child cry?

Why is there pain in his eyes?

Are these the vast rewards of our splendor

These hands so weak, so frail, so slender?

The newspapers say "We have risen above"

But this terrified soul is pleading for love...

His pain is my reason to try.
