Chapter 2
Talkar sat in a large chair next to the fire listening intently to the four dragons.
“Alright, alright everybody hush, Lebonel stop babbling, we need to tell Talkar how he came to be here,” announced Draelif.
“Ooh ooh, I’ll tell ‘im,” Lebonel said eagerly.
“No ya won’t Leb, you weren’t even there I’ll tell him, “Kuldir scolded, “O.K. you was like running after some deer and ya like hit sum’n, we dunno what, and…”
“Nu’uh! You told us he hit yer tail,” Lebonel interrupted
“Fine, fine ya hit my tail, and ya stumbled back and ya collapsed and fell down the hill. Ya woulda died if I hadn’t flown down and stopped err I mean saved ya."
“I shall take it from here,” Allassar interrupted, “Kuldir summoned us, we transported you here, and we have been caring for you since.”
“The end,” added Lebonel.
“That is basically what happened” said Draelif. The dragons fell silent letting the story sink in.
“Well, I guess I should thank you all for helping me, but I still have some questions,” Talkar paused, “Why didn’t you just take me back to my camp or even to my village, instead of bringing me here? And when can I go home?”
The four dragons looked at each other nervously, finally Draelif broke the silence, “There are well, quite a few reasons we took you here instead of anywhere else, one of them is because we have more advanced ways of healing than humans.”
“You know it is just like a human to come, demand help, ask questions, and just leave,” Kuldir said with obvious distaste and stalked out.
“Well you do need to be to full health,” Draelif said quietly.
“So as soon as I am well I can go home?” Talkar said excitedly, He didn’t want to spend another minute with these dragons.
“We will see little one, we will see,” said Draelif as he glanced at the other two dragons. “Now come, you need to rest, oh and Lebonel do not forget that tonight you must care for the you-know-what’s.”
“What’s?" questioned Talkar.
“It is nothing for you to be concerned about. Now come to bed,” Draelif told him.
