- Chapter 3 -

- Wonderful Christmastime -

Michelle slowly closed the door behind her, quietly squealing in excitement. It was finally Christmas Day! She crept down the stairs and glanced at the brightly lit Christmas tree.

“Well, you’re up early. It’s only 4:30,” Michelle whispered to Aaron, who jumped in surprise.

“Oh. Yeah. Well, you are too,” Aaron quickly covered up the tiny holes he had put in his presents, as Michelle giggled.

“Looks like you haven’t found my present yet.”

Aaron gave a confused look. She bought him a present? But he had been so rude to her up until last night! Michelle searched for a little square box wrapped in blue snowflake metallic wrapping paper. She quickly handed it to him, “You can open it now, if you want.”

Aaron smiled and unwrapped it. “Wow, this is great!” He clipped the watch around his wrist and hugged Michelle. “Thanks so much!”

Michelle grinned back. “Welcome.”

Aaron hesitated before he gave her his gift. He gave a nod, as if to reassure himself. Reaching under the Christmas tree, towards the back, Aaron grabbed a small box and handed it to Michelle. She sat down next to Aaron and gently opened it. She smiled and put the diamond earrings on.

“Are they real?”

Aaron laughed and replied sarcastically, “No Michelle, I just thought I’d give you something fake. Merry Christmas!”

Michelle grinned and hugged Aaron tightly. “Thank you!!”

She let go of him and leaned back. Their eyes met for a split second, then Aaron looked up at the balcony, to find Angel staring down at them, grinning.

“Merry Christmas,” She said as she hurried down the stairs, then down to the tree.

The rest of the day was filled with hugs, smiles, and laughter. Could anything be more perfect?
